Odyssey PAR 30 Overview

Lighting designers and mobile DJs in search of a basic wash fixture will appreciate the white Odyssey Innovative Designs PAR 30 Aluminum Light Fixture, an ideal light for DJs and architectural applications such as lighting tables, backdrops, hallways, and similar areas for a color wash effect.

The fixture utilizes an E26/E27 medium-screw base, the same as a standard household fixture. An octagonal gel frame with a spring clip enables you to add any color gel to your application. The PAR 30 includes an AC power cord and a hanging yoke.

Lamp is not included.

Pros: The fixture is light, looks nice, and does a pretty good job of throwing light (unfocused) where you need it. Cons: The rivnut used to connect the saddle to the light body can easily spin. As a result, you can't tighten down the knobs to stop the light body from moving under its own weight. I eventually forced to run a small piece of wire from the light body to the saddle's mounting point to compensate. Another example of you get what you pay for.

Why promote a PAR 30 lamp fixture that will not accept a standard length PAR 30 lamp?

The PAR 30 can use up to a 75 watt lamp.
