It's like rubbing Vaseline all over my lens. I'm not even sure where all the oil is coming from - opened it straight up from the packaging, took my slightly dusty lens and first wipe (on the non-dotted side) looked like I just spread Vaseline all over the lens. Very disappointed. 2 stars because the grip surface is pretty cool. I'll give it a good machine wash to see if it fixes.

Feels harsh on the glasses and leaves streaks behind. I've used many and all was better than this.

Don't buy this cloth. Even with the smoother side it damaged my lens, made a small mark that I can't get rid of.

what is the size of this cloth?

This cloth measures ~ 7.5" x 7.0". It is a very handy item. I have purchased several over the years for both of my Nikon DSLR lenses.

When the grip-side is peeled off the inside ...

When the grip-side is peeled off the inside packaging it leaves a dark red residue on the cardstock...while I understand this is from the silicone grip dots (which do not face the lens) will this residue transfer to other things in my camera bag or to my fingertips (and thus, my camera?) Or is it simply residue from its initial packaging/shipping?
Asked by: Jessica
Just residue, I bet. I've not had this issue that I can remember and I use mine on expensive lenses. Love them.

question

Can you use this on telescope collector glass and if so with what, windex or? And reuse after washing the cloth too?
Asked by: Mark
1. Strive to always use optical fluids/liquids to clean optics. 2. Harsh chemicals are known to remove your delicate lens coats. 3. This is a great utility /multipurpose cloth.
