Part of Joby's Action Series line, Action Grip provides steadier handheld shooting with your action camera while doubling as a flotation device should you accidentally drop it in water. An integrated three-prong mount at the top of the handle allows you to attach a GoPro camera. For use with cameras having a 1/4"-20 socket, an adapter is included. At the bottom of the handle is a detachable end cap that features a wrist strap for additional security against accidental loss and drops. Unscrewing the end cap lets you attach an optional extension pole or any other pole with the standard painter's pole threading.

It is a little bit larger than I had expected but is certainly sturdy, well made. One of my concerns is that the screw assembly on the bottom could easily come lose and might get lost. I don't know how that could be remedied but I don't believe that should be a deciding factor on making this purchase. It's a great addition to my arsenal of production tools.

A simple handle for simple cam

I ordered a point-and-shoot camera that I could carry around in a pocket all the time, and, for a few bucks more, I could get this item. I said Sure, why not? and ordered it too, without researching or comparing. I got my order, and am very happy with the little camera, but don't know what I will do with the Joby grip. It's plastic and pretty light, so not much good for stabilizing thru inertia. There is an adjustable tilt just under the mount (a standard 1/4 20 thread), but no release mechanism (the little camera has wifi, so I can trigger it remotely that way). I have come to realize that this impulse buy wasn't something that I had a need for, but I only spent a few bucks on my momentary lapse of reason. If you like having a camera on a stick, get one. It's cheaper than a monopod (owning both, I'd say to get a monopod; B&H has a great selection.)

Made of a quality plastic & made to float. It will come in handy when working near water, as well as other locations. Good price and looking forward to using it with my painter extension pole.

Has many uses for my cell phone, point and shoot camera etc

Careful: you can lose your camera! otherwise nice grip

It is a nice grip. But the bottom cap where the lanyard is attached unscrews really easily. If you are in the ocean it will be even more likely that that cap comes undone. You can use superglue to keep it attached or use a lanyard where the GoPro mount is. Ir you can use gaffer tape. The grip is of nice plastic, it floats. But the screw cap design is flawed for use in the water or where you rely on the lanyard to not lose the camera. The grip can be screwed on a pole (like a broom or paint roller pole), which is nice. But if you use it in the ocean, you need to secure the bottom cap.

Light. Hold is not that strong, so I don't recommend using other camera than Gopro. The bottom hole is not 1/4 or 3/8 standard (very big), so you cannot mount this grip on standard tripod or selphystick.

Perfect handle for my 3D VR camera. Very robust and I can add an extension if needed.
