Turn any pole into a compact jib arm for your action camera with the Action Jib Kit from Joby. The kit features two adjustable mounts that attach to cylindrical poles, such an extension pole or monopod. One clamp goes towards the base of the pole, providing a handle to operate a pulley system, while the other goes at the end of the pole and features a camera mounting bracket with a 1/4"-20 screw. A pulley cord is included that can be tied to accommodate spacing the clamps between 35" and 49" apart. When installed, you can use your pole to capture unique jib-style shots, with camera tilt controlled by turning the handle on the base clamp.

A 1/4"-20 screw on the handle grip lets you attach optional accessories, such as a Joby Arm and GripTight to support your phone for remote video monitoring and camera control. For comfortable use with a monopod when the base is pressed against your gut for support, a rounded end cap is included that fits over a 1/4"-20 screw. All components of the Jib Kit comes in a compact bag for convenient storage and travel.

Action Jib Kit (Without Pole) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good purchase for the discounted prices This jib kit allows various extension lengths (depending on the pole length) and allows adjustment of the camera angle. It would be most useful if you add a mount/holder for a cell phone at the operator end if the camera can connect to the phone via Wi-Fi so you can monitor what the camera sees. I purchased the model without the included poles, and I use it with an extendable monopod. The jib kit is quick and easy to set up, and the included bag allows you to easily carry it when not in use. It feels a little flimsy when set up but works quite well with action cameras or even a light weight P&S.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! This product is not for everyone just shooting casual home video. It requires effort and practice. Once you learn to use it... Wow! Joby has a good video with tips & tricks on how to use it on Vimeo and YouTube. With practice I'm getting some great shots. I use it for a hand-held on multi-cam shoots filming bands in live club settings. Perfect for overhead shots of drums or keys and panning down to the foot tapping. Build quality is good. Pulleys are smooth. Pole mounts are way above average. Ya gotta plant the pole on your hip or shoulder to get stable shots. I have successfully mounted this rig on a tripod. Next step is to mount it on a tripod with wheels. Don't buy it you don't have a clue what it's for. I'm tired of reading negative reviews from idiots who don't take the time to learn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to my action cam kit This action jib is basically just two pulleys that can be mounted on any pole. I have used a monopod and an extendable aluminum boathook. When the pulleys are joined by a length of string between them, you get control of the tilt on the camera end. The pulley on the control end of the pole has a handle that operates with a twist of the fingers or wrist. This is a great way to get a high perspective over a crowd without flying a drone, and is perfect for dramatic ground-level shots as well. I use it from a boat to get shots that skim the water. To use longer poles than the specs, just add your own string. Paracord works perfectly! This mount is ideal for GoPro size cameras up to compact point and shoot size cameras. Don't expect to mount a DSLR out there. When paired with the GoPro app I get a remote viewfinder and control of my camera through my iPad. It's a super-useful rig for the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for backpacking I like this handy quick fix when you need that extra angle on a shoot. The other part is why I gave it 3 stars is the following week they come up with the entire product with the pole for $4 more. why not just advertise the entire kit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Joby Jib Kit Review Love the portability of the units and can be adapted to an mono pod. However, having to hand hold the jib was not as smooth. Maybe, working a design adding a counterweight may help

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Action Jib kit as a teaching tool I am a television production teacher and I purchased the kit for my advanced students to use in my classroom. I think it will add rigor to the assignment and give them more options for creativity. Since school for me doesn't start until August, I had to test it out at home and it was a lot of fun and easy to use. I was able to come up with several ideas for my students. A very economical way to get a JIB effect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's gerrrrrrrate Initially bought it for its low cost and as a toy. Bought the Jib kit with the pole. Easy to put together. It really works well and is fun to use. Gives a new camera angle. Had to mount the camera on the “left” of the pole so I could use the swing out LCD viewfinder of my Canon video camera. For the price you cannot, repeat, cannot go wrong.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great way to increase your footage This item works well. Do not use a large diameter mono pod as it is a pain to get the clamps open up that large. But otherwise works well- I don know how long it would hold up to heavy use as the plastic feels cheap
