I bought this to help resurrect an old canon t2i so I could shoot with a bigger monitor. Length is pretty good, I could do with 5 more inches, but not so much I'd return this one. I didn't want to put the monitor on the camera shoe for balance and weight issues, so I've got a small Israeli arm clamped to a tripod leg. As I said, it's a tight fit with only a couple inches of play, but works a treat. It's well made and it looks like the connections won't go bad unless you've got Mongo for an assistant.
