DigiTech TRIO Overview

  • 1Description

The TRIO from DigiTech is a musical accompaniment generating guitar pedal that "listens" to the way you play and automatically creates bass and drum parts that match your song. Just plug your guitar into TRIO, press the footswitch to teach TRIO your chords and rhythm, then press the footswitch again to start playing with your own personal band. The pedal features amp and mixer outputs, as well as a headphone output with level control, making it suitable for performances, recordings, and practice.

Seven Music Genres and Twelve Song Styles Per Genre
The TRIO provides seven music genres to choose from, including Blues, Pop, Alternative Rock, Rock, Country, R&B, and Jazz. Up to twelve song styles are available for each genre and you can select between 3/4 and 4/4 time signatures
Recall Song Parts On-The-Fly
The TRIO can learn up to 3 different song parts which can then be recalled on-the-fly as the song plays back. An optional DigiTech FS3X footswitch can be connected to the TRIO for easier, hands-free selection of song parts and styles.
Other Features:
  • Adjustable tempo and alternate half time/double time variants
  • Bass and drum level controls

    DigiTech TRIO Reviews

TRIO Band Creator Guitar Pedal is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Has Many Issues! The Trio is best used via the FX Loop so your reverb/delay/drop-tune etc won't affect the drums or bass. The problem is that it may or may not record guitar when connected via the FX Loop. If it doesn't work try adjusting the +4dBV/-10dBV setting if available on the amp. The Trio also has issues working with the Bone Shaker distortion pedal (not an FX Loop pedal) so you may need to click it off and use an Overdrive pedal instead. Basically when the Trio is used in the FX Loop and the Bone Shaker is directly plugged into the amp it will not record guitar unless you turn off the Bone Shaker. I'm sure I will find more issues but for now these are the ones that I found. Other than that it's a fun pedal to work with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Pedal; but send DigiTech the bill for your printer ink. A fun little pedal that makes solo practice lots of fun! What will they think of next? My only reluctance when it comes to DigiTech products is the lack of printed manuals for ALL their products. Not cool to have to pay top dollar for one of their pedals and then have to download & print a 50 page manual from the internet in order to have a hard copy. Should at least be able to request one free from the company.

Can you save/record what you are playing with the TRIO including the drum & bass? And what is needed to do this?
    Asked by: Anonymous
You can. The device maintains the last groove you established, even after unplugging and replugging later; unless you delete it by holding down the main switch for a few seconds. Otherwise, use multi-track or even stereo or mono recording like you would with any device that affords multiple outputs.
