I did have to modify the top ring to allow a coffee mug to be used in the holder. I removed the right side rubber bumper from the upper ring, cut off 3/4 inch of it, then re-glued the rubber bumper. this allows the coffee mug handle to slip down between the center and the right side vertical retainers on the bottom plate. If the top ring was offset 3/4 of an inch to begin with it would be great!

Solid, welded substantial cupholder with large range threaded clamp looks like they'll hold up to setup and breakdown of the whole band and the gorilla who packs the equipment. Would be more versatile if it could swivel (it doesn't) so it's a truly upright accessory for mic stands. We give them a strong recommendation and tossed a box full of partially useable and partly broken plastic cupholders.
