I've used Quik Lok A-frame stands for many years, and thought of them as the gold standard in functional, and durable guitar stands. This one looked interesting to me. The foldable, compact design, plus Quik Lok's reputation, inspired me to make this purchase. However, this stand is absolutely No Good for a Fender Jazz Bass. Despite Quik Lok stating on their website, that this stand "provides a sturdy and stable support for any size and weight guitar instrument". The Fender Jazz is about as standard as you can get for an electric bass, but this stand DOES NOT cradle the bass securely on the bottom, and the instrument is *not* stable. The bass will slide right off because nothing is holding it securely on the bottom. Quik Lok tried to make this a "one size fits all" type stand, making the cradle very wide, but not very deep. It will accommodate an acoustic guitar, or a flat bottom electric guitar, (Precision Bass, Telecaster, etc.), but the design is not suitable for a Fender Jazz Bass due to the instruments shape on the bottom. But the Jazz Bass has been this shape since day one, and Quik Lok failed to take this design into consideration. If you play a Jazz, this is NOT the stand for you.
