It works fine, though it's hard to get the mounting screw tight enough that the camera won't move with a little force (cheap hardware). There is also a bit of flex in the bracket in vertical position but so far it's done the job. Had to give this a shot before paying five times as much for one from the top brands.

used on Nikon D7500 - good

I've L-Brackets on all my SLRs for many years. I appreciate the perfect fit and function of the custom brackets, but I'm sick of paying for them. This unit fits my D7500 nicely, but it certainly lacks the elegance of a custom fit: the special connection doors on the left of the camera are blocked (I don't use any of those features), the 1/4-20 hole on the base is necessarily way off center (I don't use that either), the antitwist plate interferes slightly with the articulation of the back LCD. As shown, the plate comes with all the hardware you need. I'm sure this will work just fine for me.

Not right for Nikon D7500

Ive used Sunway before. Nice products very well designed and fabricated. Strong product, nicely finished. The multiple slots in the universal design  allow you to pick a good position to keep the vertical bracket close to the camera - works good.  Once you pick the right slot, you move the bracket front to back along this slot so that a ledge on the back of the bracket fits against the camera body just below the viewing  screen. This keeps the camera from twisting out of alignment on the bracket when you move it from horizontal to vertical. But, when you do this on the D7500, the vertical side of the bracket (next to the camera cable connectors) moves way to forward - blocks the connectors. And with the alignment slots running front to back on the bracket, its not easy to quickly move the camera body away from the vertical side. I guess  you could do that and leave a gap permanently or move the camera away from the anti-twist ledge - which I dont think is a good idea. So, Im going to keep on looking for a better solution.

Not a good fit for Nikon D500 or D850

While this device is advertised as "universal", it doesn't fit properly on either my D500 or D850. On the D500, it fits snugly, but overlaps the battery cover. Thus, it has to be loosened and rotated in order to change a battery. While not a major issue, it's an extra bother when shooting in the field, particularly when you're in the middle of action. On the D850, it fits on the base, but the vertical portion is offset slightly from the side of the body by about the width of a credit card. It can be used this way, and won't fall off, but it's really not great for shooting in the vertical position as it can easily loosen. Having said that, it appears well built and I really like that the main set screw on the bottom has a slot. So unlike it's more expensive brethren, it can be tightened with not only a hex drive, but a wide flat head screwdriver or a coin (a penny is my favored tool in the field).

Only OK for Nikon D7500

Purchased this for my wife's Nikon D7500 knowing that as universal design it would not be a perfect fit. When correctly secured to the bottom of the body the vertical part of the bracket does not align with the data ports on the left side of the camera at all, as the bracket is about half an inch too far forward. I knew the fit would be compromised in this respect and can live with that since we don't use them during shooting. However, on the bottom of the bracket there is a 1/4 x 20 threaded hole which we did intend to use to fasten a Blackrapid camera strap. The problem is that this hole is offset well to the left of the camera's center, and this causes a torque to be exhibited on the bracket mounting screw when carrying the camera via this attachment point. The bracket comes loose making the offset 1/4 x 20 hole an unreliable attachment point. If you use a conventional camera strap (attached directly to the top of each side of the body) this may not be an issue for you.

Works well with my canon 5D mk3. My only complaint would be that it blocks where you can plug in cables. Other than that, it’s well made & works great!

Although this grip has a universal fit, it has not been tested to our knowledge with the D610, D90 and D7000 bodies with a battery grip attached. Your results may vary.

It is universal. So, while it will attach to your camera and allow easy rotation from landscape to portrait, you probably will not have access to all the connecting ports on the camera body while in use.
