Purchased for nodal adjustment in panoramic photography. The scale is clearly marked and easily readable. Smooth operation of the thumbscrew.

Works as good as my $125 RRS rail

We needed a second rail and decided to go low budget. To our surprise it is as functional as our RRS rail.

Quality product; works well.

This works as expected, allowing me to get the camera closer to the subject, especially for macro, when conditions do not allow positioning the tripod any closer to the subject. It easily slides where mounted on the tripod head.

Just a rail

PROS: Easily attaches to swiss plate on tripod. Does what it is advertized. Allows off cenetr placement by loosening the tripod's swiss clamp and manually sliding the rail to the desired position. CONS: Would be nice if the rail were two pieces and allowed a worm gear to position the distance off the nodal point. As it is it works simply be loosening the tripod's swiss clamp and manually sliding the rail to the desired position - not very precise. Expensive for a single piece of aluminum - might not work with longer lenses.

Precisely Made

Well finished, works well, good price. Loses one star for coming packed directly on a foam insert that had melted a bit and required me to clean the nodal slide with alcohol to remove the stickiness on its sides.

Great build quality!

Really nice quality nodal rail. Hard to spend so much more when the build quality is so good on these.

Can I use this nodal slide with Really Right Stuff PG-01 Compact Pano-Gimbal Head with Lever-Release Clamp, and Leveling Base?
Asked by: jerry
Yes, since both are arca-swiss compatible. However, the general consensus is that it's recommend that you use their own nodal slide due to slight variations in arca-swiss plate specifications. There is a PG-01 kit that comes with a nodal slide as well, albeit slightly shorter, here https://bhpho.to/3bNW28c

Does this slide length work OK with at 14mm with a Nikon 14-24 on a full frame? I want to make sure it isn't so long that it appears in the bottom of the frame.
Asked by: David
Tested with a Nikon D850 with the 14-24mm f/2.8, the lens does not protrude far enough to be visible at 14mm. It's the perfect length, actually; it does stick out a hair but isn't visible in the photo.

question

The only difference between this and the Sunwayfoto DPG-2416R Multi-Purpose Rail is that with this (DMP 200R) you don't have to remove the plate from your camera to use it, right? Your camera with its plate fits into the clamp on the Sunwayfoto plate, right?
Asked by: Brian
I think that the DPG-2416R requires the addition of something like the Sunwayfoto MCP-01 Mini-Clamp Package to complete the package and allow you to use your Arca-Swiss style plate on your camera. This would be more expensive than just buying the DMP-200R.
