For seemingly impossible missions of any kind, any place, or anytime, the foliage green Zafar Internal Frame Backpack from Maxpedition is designed to be as tough, dependable, and gung-ho as you. The inside of the pack features a zippered main compartment for storing an optional, user-supplied water bladder, personal items, survival gear, communications, optical, and electronic equipment as required. A second, zippered front compartment has three, clear-mesh pockets for small items such as notepads, batteries, and maps.
At the rear of the main compartment is a large, slip-in, zippered pocket for installing the lightweight, polypropylene frame. On the top of the frame is a vertical pocket with a touch-fastening flap for the replaceable, aluminum stay. The stay is easily bent by hand for the purpose of contouring the frame to conform to the shape of your back. This provides the added comfort and support necessary for conquering longer treks with less fatigue.
Each exterior, backpack side has a tall, zippered pocket for storing a pair of gloves, flashlight, woolen cap, or other similar sized gear. On top of both of these pockets is a 32 oz water bottle sized pocket with a bungee cord closure. Side compression straps keep your load tight and stable. Hydration tube ports, one on each side, provide water bladder access. The top of the Zafar features a heavy duty, grab handle, one button-lock zipper capture for security, and a fleece-lined, zipper pouch for sunglasses and other small items.
Soft, egg crate, nylon mesh lines the rear of the pack for comfort and to wick-away moisture. Near the base is a removable, adjustable, padded waist belt with two, small, zippered pockets for energy bars, compact camera, and other small items. For fast pack removal, the waist belt closes with a quick-release buckle. A tough, non-slip panel on the bottom of the pack provides added water resistance and abrasion protection.
To go the distance and back, the Zafar backpack is made of water and abrasion resistant 1000D nylon fabric. Zippers are high strength YKK, and feature paracord pulls. Internal seams are taped and finished, and stress points are bartacked or box stitched for durability. Padding is made of #AS-100 high grade closed-cell foam for added shock protection. To safeguard valuable gear from water intrusion, the fabric is treated with a triple polyurethane coating.
