The Elgato Thunderbolt 2 Dock connects to a notebook or desktop via a single Thunderbolt 2 cable and provides additional ports to your Windows or Mac computer. This docking station supports 4K resolutions to an external monitor utilizing the HDMI port and allows you to connect a second monitor by using the Thunderbolt 2 out port. It also offers a Gigabit Ethernet, headphone, microphone, and a Thunderbolt 2 input port as well as three USB 3.0 ports.
Each USB 3.0 port delivers data to your system at a speed up to 5 Gb/s and provides 1.5A of power to charge a USB device even with the computer off. Additionally, they are UASP compliant to offer even faster transfer rates. The amplified headphone port increases the audio quality coming from your computer so that you can better hear the sounds from movies or music. Included with the docking station are a power adapter and a 1.6' (50cm) Thunderbolt cable.
SuperSpeed USB 3.0
This docking station offers three additional SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports for your computer, which can transfer data at a speed up to 5 Gb/s. The two USB ports located on the back of the docking station allow you to easily gain access to a storage drive and printer. The front USB 3.0 port provides quick accessibility when connecting a USB thumb drive.
Stand Alone Charging
The built-in USB ports on the dock provide power to USB bus-powered devices even with the computer turned off. These ports provide 1.5A and can charge smartphones, tablets, and more. To enable USB powered support for your Mac, a free Thunderbolt Dock utility is available via download.
Gigabit Ethernet Network
Wired network connections are faster and more reliable than Wi-Fi, and with the Elgato Thunderbolt 2 Dock, you can tap into the full performance of Gigabit Ethernet. Enjoy speedy connections to your servers, uninterrupted downloads from the internet, and reliable file transfers with your co-workers - without an additional adapter dangling awkwardly off the side of your notebook.
Headphones can stay connected with the amplified stereo audio port on the Elgato Thunderbolt 2 Dock. An additional, separate audio input port enables you to simultaneously connect a high-quality microphone for making conference calls or any other project that benefits from having your voice heard.
Dual Thunderbolt 2 Ports
Elgato Thunderbolt 2 Dock offers two Thunderbolt 2 ports: one to connect to your computer and one to extend the versatility of Thunderbolt even further. Connect high-speed peripherals such as a Thunderbolt compatible storage drive to take advantage of unmatched performance, add a Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter for compatibility with your legacy devices, or connect an additional Thunderbolt display. You can even connect another Elgato Thunderbolt 2 Dock.
When it's time to leave, individually ejecting external drives can be a hassle. With the Elgato Thunderbolt Dock Utility, avoiding data loss is just a click in your menu bar away: conveniently eject all storage devices at once and immediately see when it's safe to unplug the Elgato Thunderbolt 2 Dock.
