  • 1Description

This VEO 265AB Aluminum Tripod with TBH-50 Ball Head from Vanguard has a load capacity of 17.6 lb and extends from 7.25" to 59". The tripod's center column is reversible, allowing the legs to fold around the head, and making it a compact 15.4" when folded. With rubber feet and retractable steel spikes, the tripod remains stable on a variety of surfaces from carpet to ice. The 5 leg sections are held in place with flip locks that can be adjusted with the included leg lock tightening tool.

The included ball head has a large locking knob, degree markings for the 360° panning, and an Arca-type compatible quick release plate. A carrying case is also included to protect the tripod when not in use.

    Vanguard VEO 265AB reviews

VEO 265AB Aluminum Tripod with TBH-50 Ball Head is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Tripod for the money I happened into a manufacturers sales event at the camera store nearest me. For all those wanting the column hook, it was replaced with the eyelet on the side of the bracket around the center column. The manufacturer rep said it was for use with a carabiner to hold a bag or other weight. Most reviewers were using hammocks with weights and that was more than I cared to mess with; too many extras when your bag can do the job. I tested the setup with a Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens on my d5300 and it held rock solid. Very little shake and quick to settle, when I thumped it, while close to 10 lbs hung from the eyelet. Without the weight, it vibrated for some time. I took off a star for lacking friction control on the head. I bought 2, one for my wife and one for myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it! At 78 yrs of age the older & heavier but very good Vanguard Alta had gotten too much for hiking in mountain country to photograph waterfalls. This little Vanguard VEO 265AB was just the ticket for me. Took it to photograph three falls last week in Dupont State Forest in NC and it was sturdy even in a somewhat gusty wind. The rotating center column took a little bit of getting used to but it sure made for a much more compact tripod. I know there are other tripods that may be a little lighter with carbon fibre legs but i'm sold on this one as well as the quality of Vanguard tripods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Tripod I use the Vanguard VEO 265AB for Portraiture and Landscape Photography. Thus far it has worked great! It is compact, simple, and sturdy. I have had no issues with it in the first few months of trial. I am a little hesitant on the neck of the tripod; one has to tighten it decently tight to get the center column to stay firmly in place. I have not had any problems thus far (hence the 5 stars), although I am leery about how it will hold up over time with wear and tear in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VANGUARD best low budget This tripod is reasonably priced and built to last! The ammount of weight it can hold compared to the actual weight of the tripod is astonishing. The tripod has strong articulating legs and the shaft attatched to the ball head can flip upside-down for increased portability. This is a tripod for photography purposes so if you're looking for a tripod you can use to film with, this one is not the one for you sadly. Overall, amazing build quality and great price. 10/10 would reccomend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just the ticket! I already own a Vanguard ALTA PRO 283CT and decided to give this smaller Vanguard model a try for when I want to travel light. I put this pod through it's paces even trying my Sigma 150-600 on it (carefully of course) and was able to get a very high percentage of usable images (your mileage may vary.) Tip; especially when it is windy and for big lenses with image stabilization, leave stabilization turned on and either your hands on the camera (using the tripod just brace the lens) or with a two second delay after pressing the shutter so the stabilization has a little something to work with when you stop touching the camera. Test this method with your gear of course. I was also very happy to have the ground level accessory included but chose to add a couple layers of gaffers tape to provide a more snug fit. Taking this tripod to beautiful Iowa next month :-).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value for money. Lightweight and easy to use. Handles my camera and the heavy 70-200mm lens well.
