    Vanguard VEO AM-264TR reviews

VEO AM-264TR Aluminum Monopod with 3-Leg Base is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A monopod that can act like a tripod This well built monopod has the ability to perform as a tripod when required. Lots of nice features: stabilizing legs snap securely in place and are easily released. Top plate features a plastic cap to cover the 1/4-20 mounting stud allowing the monopod to be used as a walking stick. The flip locks quickly and securely lock the telescoping sections. With an Oben BE-117 ballhead attached it has proven to be the perfect solution for travel photography.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice quality build - perfect for my needs I use this mono-pod as an alternative to a light stand to hold my Canon 600ex hot shoe flash. I do real estate interior and architectural photography and this mono-pod enables me to place the light in places just not possible with a regular light stand. Sure, you have to be careful if the surface is not hard and flat, but the ease of use and portability while I am shooting a home (and moving quickly) really make a difference. I considered the other offerings from Manfrotto, but I am not disappointed in the quality at all, in fact the quality is impressive. The leg extension levers seems ok now, but time will tell how they hold up with constant use. Now that I have put this one to good use, I think I will order another.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Construction..........Great Value for the Price I wanted a newer monopod and thought one with a 3 leg base with be more versatile. I reviewed several. Some more expensive and some a bit less. I decided I did not want to spend a fortune for carbon fiber, etc. I have a Vanguard Heavy Duty Tri-Pod and just went with this monopod. Turned out to be a good decision. The unit is very well constructed. It is light enough in weight to be very portable. And amazingly the 3 legs provide good support. The only thing I would say is that you have to be on level ground to make it the most stable. The leg extends quickly and locks securely. I plan to buy a simple ball head to complete the unit. Overall I have to give this 5 stars. It should be a great addition to my kit bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good at this price point - I'll be buying another For the price, it's a decent monopod with feet. Maybe not 5 full stars, but more about 4.5. The feet lock in place nicely (they require a bit of learning to collapse), and are easy to pull down when retracted, but not too easy - I would say the right amount of tension. The locks for the sections are metal, which I did not expect at this price point. It's quite stable with my GH4 on it, and I will be buying another for a B-cam. The only problem with this monopod is that the bolt is 1/4, not 3/8, so an adapter is needed, and while inexpensive, I would have preferred the larger, meatier 3/8 bolt. A minor complaint is that the shaft is a bit skinny - my other monopod is a bit thicker and easier to hold. Still, all in all, for the price this VEO monopod is good buy and I'll be adding another to my collection of sticks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy little monopod I have the Manfrotto MVM250A as well as this monopod and the Vanguard one is so much better. The base feels much more fluid and you can also lock the base so that the monopod does not begin to fall over. Nice light, and portable. The perfect gear to have if you shoot events.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from IMHO I recently purchased this system and I am very happy with the way it performs. It is not as stable as a tripod but it should not be expected to perform as well. That said, it is much better than a monopod. It is easy to use, the quality appears to be good, and it is easy to transport.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from i would buy this product again i love taking pictures of my family and friends. using a tripod is a good thing to shoot a sharp picture. using or taking a tripod is a little inconvenient because of weight. with this monopod so light and not so obvious that you are taking picture is of great importance to me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compact, strong and lightweight, perfect gear for traveling! Built strong for the price. Enough stable to hold my Canon 70D on a fluid video head with a led light and Rode Videomic Pro easely. Compact and lightweight, this monopod is perfect for travelling.
