    Tamrac N-45 reviews

N-45 Foam Padded Leather Quick Release Camera Strap (Black) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 123.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable I've used Domke Gripper straps for as long as I can remember, but when I recently purchased a long lens I was wanting to find a strap with quick release tabs so I could easily remove the camera strap when I would be carrying the camera by the lens' strap. I was hesitant about the Tamrac strap since I usually find wide straps uncomfortable, but this strap is is great. The padding really saves wear and tear on the shoulders when carrying a camera with a 70-200/2.8 attached. I like this strap so much that I just ordered two more. One advantage the Domke straps do have over the Tamrac is the swivel release, it helps keep the strap from getting twisted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and Simple I bought this strap to use with the Rolleiflex 3.5f planar I just got and so far it's worked extremely well. I photograph on the street for long hours, and at this time of year in hot weather, so it is important I have a strap that is comfortable even if it gets a little sweaty. This strap has been a perfect choice. The leather is soft and the padding feels really nice on my neck, especially with a rather heavy camera hanging from it. Being a small person (5' 3), I use the strap on its shortest setting. The only possible problem with this strap is if in the future for some reason or another I should want to make it shorter. That would not be possible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable I've been a long-time user of the Domke Gripper straps, but after buying some long glass I was looking for a strap with quick release tabs so I could easily remove the camera strap when I carry the camera by the lens' strap. I usually don't like wide straps, but this one is very comfortable. The cushion on the strap really makes it nicer to carry the camera when it has a 70-200/2.8 mounted on it. After using the strap for a few weeks I decided to order a couple more for my other cameras. One thing I do miss about the Domke strap is the swivel connectors which help prevent the strap from getting twisted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inferior Design I bought this based on all the other reviews praising the product. However I have found that the mechanism to secure the end of the strap (on the part that attaches to the camera body) does not properly hold the strap...there is not enough space and strap length for this mechanism (with the biting teeth) to work. As a result the strap is at risk of falling off since without this there is nothing to stop the strap end from working itself loose through the plastic buckle mechanism. It hasn't fallen off yet, but of course I can't take this risk and have stopped using this strap. Save yourself some money and look for something with a better design. For now I will revert to my original Nikon strap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Classic look, comfortable to use I wanted something that would be more comfortable with heavier lenses, quick release for work on and off a tripod, and without a flashy logo. This pretty much covers the bill. It doesn't look like I'm a Xmas tree festooned with camera-brand logos (something that concerns me when travelling in Asia-Pacific). It is much more comfortable to wear with lenses around 800g or less. So I think it makes a very good traveller's neckstrap. The quick release options are effective and useful. I don't think I would like to wear it all day around my neck with 1.4+ kg lenses. It is certainly a better option than the neck-straps that come with the camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and Comfy I received my new strap just before heading to San Francisco for a week, and it was wonderful to have on the trip! I spent 7 days with my camera around my neck practically all day and I never once felt tired. I also just bought a new lens, which is heavier than my old lens, so I was concerned that the weight would get to be too much. But the strap was awesome. I really like how easily I could lengthen the strap and wear it slung across one shoulder. I don't know why it took me so long to upgrade from the stock strap that came with my camera, but I am extremely happy with the choice I made.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still same product all these years My first N-45 was purchased when I was a college student way back in 1986. Since then it has been used over 7 cameras and is currently strapped to a Canon 5D MKII. Back then (1986), OEM strap supplied with the camera was hopelessly thin and unsupportive. That where the N-45 came in. It distributes weight well and the leather lined strap would not slip off the shoulder. Pros Well padded Not too thick for comfy snug Extremely durable Easy to detach from camera body Cons Not I can think off Conclusion I have to buy a second one after 24 years !! for my 2nd body and it still beats the supplied strap

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Flashy, But Get's the Job Done Well This is a great strap. As soon as I felt the leather portion of the strap, it was evident that the materials were superior to that of the strap included with my T2i. The thick padded leather (almost suede) is much more comfortable to wear around the neck or shoulder especially with some L glass mounted. The quick release function is great for those times that you do not want the strap in the way of things, i.e. tripod use, or quickly handing it off to someone. This strap is one of the best bargains you will find on B&H's site. A definite thumbs up but I am reserving the 5th star for a version of this that includes some color options other than black; this really is the only shortcoming - it is a little plain to look at but otherwise a great product.
