Peaking

Peaking highlights the sharpest (most in focus) areas of the image with a color outline. The monitor features two modes, monochrome, and color. The monochrome mode shows the image in black and white with the red peaking outline, and the color peaking mode shows the image in color with a red peaking outline.

False Color

The False Color feature provides under/over luminance warning by presenting the image as a series of color values representing exposure.

Waveform

The waveform provides an objective evaluation of your video signal. It displays the brightness of your image on an IRE scale, allowing you to see if your image will clip, and where your black levels are.

Histogram

The Histogram provides a graphic depiction of how many pixels in your image are at each level between black and white. This provides you exposure information so you can objectively judge how much of your image is clipping, falling into the shadows, or being captured faithfully.

Vectorscope

The vectorscope displays the signal on a graph so you can check the phase of your colors. The vectorscope function also verifies and checks the overall tint and hue of an image.

1:1 Pixel Mode

1:1 pixel-to-pixel mapping allows you to look at parts of your image without any scaling, so you can see the actual detail and not be fooled by scaling artifacts.

H/V Delay

This mode allows you to see the video signal outside the active picture area. Settings include Off, H/V Delay, H Delay, and V Delay.

Underscan/Overscan

Allows you to display an image with lower resolution than the screen with either a black border around the image or fill the screen entirely.

question

I am shooting on a 4k Blackmagic Mini Ursa, and was wondering if this monitor supports 4k 60 frames viewing and 1080p 120fps viewing (not recording)? I don't know much about these field monitors or how to tell whether its compatible, only features I need are peaking for focusing and maybe crosshairs. Is there a way to tell if a monitor supports 4k UHD input and playback of higher framerates?
Asked by: Adrian
This monitor can handle 24-60FPS HD only. No 4K or 120FPS. Our understanding is when the camera shoots at windowed 120FPS HD and is then played back, it will play at the speed you are normally working in. That speed will be in the range of 24-60FPS and will play on this monitor. Played back at the slower speed will of course render the footage in slow motion.

question

The component input looks way different that the inputs for my tv. What adapter must I buy to have it work on this camera? My hdmi is not working on my fs100 so I must have the component cables match.
Asked by: Brodis L.
This monitor has BNC connectors for the component input. We have RCA to BNC adapters you could purchase. Another option to consider would be a monitor that has RCA component inputs, such as the Aputure VS-2.

We're afraid not. You will need to use the appropriate charger for the battery kind you are using with this monitor. The monitor itself cannot charge batteries.

question

Anyone have experience using this monitor with the Blackmagic Cinema Camera? And words of wisdom would be much appreciated!
Asked by: Adam M.
While we have not reviewed these two products together, we feel most confident they play together well. The camera/monitor issue that is most common is whether the camera puts out a signal that the monitor can support. This Lilliput reads every type of signal there is so you will be good.

question

Is this monitor for video shooting only or can it be used for still shooting with Sony a7 series cameras as well?
Asked by: Anonymous
In matching a monitor to a camera, the video connectors must be the same or a converter used, and the camera's video format must be one the monitor can read. The Lilliput can read most any popular camera format and reads the Sony a7 just fine.
