  • 1Description

Lilliput's 663/S2 7" LCD On-Camera 3G-SDI / HDMI Monitor is an on-camera monitor offering 1280 x 800 resolution with 400 nit brightness and an 800:1 contrast ratio. The monitor allows you to analyze focus, exposure, and other characteristics with False Color, Pixel-to-Pixel, and Histogram. It supports both NTSC and PAL compatible signals with HDMI, 3G-SDI, Component, and Composite inputs. This monitor also features an HDMI output, allowing you to feed the monitor and send the video signal along an HDMI infrastructure. It also features both a built-in speaker and headphone jack.

The four front panel buttons and four rotating knobs can be assigned to specific functions that allow you to call up often-used menu functions. You can power the monitor by using the included battery plates or the 4-pin XLR connector. The included 4-pin XLR power cable features a barrel connector and three pigtail cables for connecting to a tally system. The monitor features a tally indicator on the front of the monitor. An assortment of supplied accessories includes a Sony L-type and Canon LP-E6-type battery plates. The monitor incorporates a 1/4"-20 threaded mounting hole on the bottom and on each side, and the included sun hood attaches via hook and loop fastener to a removable sun hood attachment frame. A V-mount and Gold mount plate adapter allows you to mount optional V-mount or Gold mount battery plates.

Peaking highlights the sharpest (most in focus) areas of the image with a color outline. The monitor features two modes, monochrome, and color. The monochrome mode shows the image in black and white with the red peaking outline, and the color peaking mode shows the image in color with a red peaking outline.
False Color
The False Color feature provides under/over luminance warning by presenting the image as a series of color values representing exposure.
The waveform provides an objective evaluation of your video signal. It displays the brightness of your image on an IRE scale, allowing you to see if your image will clip, and where your black levels are.
The Histogram provides a graphic depiction of how many pixels in your image are at each level between black and white. This provides you exposure information so you can objectively judge how much of your image is clipping, falling into the shadows, or being captured faithfully.
The vectorscope displays the signal on a graph so you can check the phase of your colors. The vectorscope function also verifies and checks the overall tint and hue of an image.
1:1 Pixel Mode
1:1 pixel-to-pixel mapping allows you to look at parts of your image without any scaling, so you can see the actual detail and not be fooled by scaling artifacts.
H/V Delay
This mode allows you to see the video signal outside the active picture area. Settings include Off, H/V Delay, H Delay, and V Delay.
Allows you to display an image with lower resolution than the screen with either a black border around the image or fill the screen entirely.

    Lilliput 663/S2 reviews

    663/S2 7" LCD On-Camera 3G-SDI / HDMI Monitor is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor for the price I bought this monitor back in June 2016 and thought the image looked terrible. Sometimes in the right lighting on my Sony FS7 if would look ok. Fast forward to a few months later I saw on youtube that it has a sharpness setting that's deep in the menu. Found it, turned it down from 50 to 2 and the image looks really nice now. Pleasantly surprised. It's also packed with features(waveform, histogram, peaking) and has sdi and hdmi inputs. Great little monitor for the price. Comes with sunshade, ac power, case. I have v-mount batteries so I did buy an Anton Bauer adapter plate for it. Only real complaint is the case it comes with, the configuration is a bit wonky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very well-made, useful monitor with great features. This little monitor is a real boon for those who work with HDMI and SDI feeds, especially in a TV broadcast or film production environment. It also makes a great viewfinder for a DSLR and a handy little go-anywhere monitor for diverse uses, e.g. checking SDI outputs of satellite IRDs, chasing SDI at the tailboard of an OB truck or checking HDMI outputs for complex home entertainment systems or commercial installations. You pay a little more for the SDI input/output option, but if you work in professional broadcasting you must have it and for the money it's well worth it. The first pleasant surprise was the feel and heft of it. It has a metal chassis which feels just right and inspires confidence. The screen is viewable over a very wide angle, and all the various parameters such as safe-zones, peaking, vectorscope, display of audio levels, zebra, blue-screen etc should be enough to keep any demanding DP or director happy. The variety of DC input options is useful. Tolerating up to 18VDC input via the broadcast-standard 4-pin XLR socket, it can also use Sony F970-style batteries (my choice), Canon 5D batteries via the supplied battery mounting-plates, and (most usefully) the ubiquitous Anton-Bauer V-mount batteries via a special adapter-plate. Professional users will find these power-options especially handy. The supplied accessories are comprehensive and genuinely useful as well. The aluminium tilting-frame made for easy mounting on my DSLR cage-rig and the viewing-hood made use in bright sunlight a lot easier it just velcros into place. The clip-on battery mounting-plates make changing to a different style of battery a snack. The hot-shoe mount made it perfect for a DSLR video run and gun situation, or use on a stabilising-rig. This thing is versatile, and that's important when you're buying gear for daily use in different production-areas. This monitor deserves a place in the kit of any professional or semi-pro videographer or cinematographer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mind-boggling Experience I am enthused to share with you such an amazing company. B&H have been a huge part in my career of film and photography. Firstly I want to applaud them for sticking to their beliefs by taking off on Saturday. God Bless you for that!!! Secondly the amazing support. The amazing prices. The fast shipping. The perfect quality products! It's 100%. I'm not being bias. I have worked with Adorama, and other leading companies but there is just something different with B&H!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent but dim Decent for the price but the screen is lacking in brightness. You'll be struggling to really see comfortably when shooting during the day.
