Designed for mobile workers, the R12 Rugged Tablet PC from Motion Computing is a fully-featured computer in a durable and lightweight frame. The rubberized bevel border is wrapped around a 12.5" Full-HD View Anywhere Display that can be navigated by 10-point touch or the included Wacom digitizer stylus.
The rugged R12 is powered by a 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7-4610Y CPU and 8GB of 1600 MHz DDR3L-SDRAM, and contains a 128GB solid state drive. It includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi, a built-in GPS module, and Bluetooth 4.0. An SDXC card slot is integrated for expandability, as are USB 3.0 and HDMI ports. An 8 MP rear camera and 2 MP front camera are built in, as well as multi- directional array microphones, integrated speakers, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The R12 is Enterprise ready, which means it's prepared for integration with your workplace's existing software. And whether in the office or in the field, your data is safe with a suite of security features including biometric fingerprint reader, Trusted Platform Module, and encryption software.
Though portable and lightweight at less than 3 lb, the R12 is powered by a battery that provides over 9 hours of life. It also features a bridge battery that will keep your tablet running while you switch batteries. The installed operating system is Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit.
The capacitive screen can be navigated by 10-point touch gestures, or with the included Wacom Digital Pen, which can be stored in the integrated pen bay and attached to the pen tether anchor to prevent loss.
