XYZprinting da Vinci 1.0 Overview

Print in ABS up to a maximum build volume of 7.8 x 7.8 x 7.8" with the da Vinci 1.0 3D Printer from XYZprinting. Create detailed objects in resolutions as fine as 100 microns. Alternatively, choose the Ultra Fast speed setting to print your designs in 400-micron resolution when greater precision isn't required. The included XYZWare software will accept .3w files when sent via USB 2.0 cable from your computer.

The enclosed printing area both protects users from hot machinery during printing and maintains the high temperatures required for successful printing with ABS plastic. Filament is fed into the da Vinci from proprietary cartridges that can be refilled with more filament when empty.

The da Vinci 1.0 ships fully assembled and, being plug-and-play, is ready to print out of the box. Also included with the da Vinci are one filament cartridge, a glue stick, and several post-production tools. It is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems.

This 3 D printer made the grade with 14 year old grandson!

Austin was in seventh heaven. It was worth the extra cost to have a printer that could do more than the junior models. The safety features were important to him and to me, too. He had to have a new computer to use with the printer so he got a great laptop to manage the printing and to find the programs that are available on the Internet to make/print a variety of items. Must have I 5 and 8 GB of ram on computer to operate this printer. Over all, this was a gift to last a long time. 3 D printing is the way of the future.

This 3d printer works great. Got it in two days from b&h. It was packaged very well. Had it printing a sample in about 15 minutes. I started using the glue like they say to do in the instructions and needed up knocking it out of calibration. The parts stick to well with the glue. I downloaded the Amazon app for da Vinci 1.0 calibration and had it re calibrated in about 4 tests. Now that I'm not using glue I have about 24 hours of print time on it and it's still in calibration. Again this printer works great. Like anything else this new it might take a little time to learn how to use it to its full potential. I have a friend that is so impressed with it he is buying one as well. I would defiantly recomend this product to anyone looking to get into 3d printing. Yes the proprietary Cartages kinda suck with the price they are but they print very well and it keeps everything contained and looking like a printer that cost three times as much. I have printed a 8hour print on it with no issues. Love this product. Looking into getting the 1.0 AIO next summer I think!

Good start, but no warranty

Mine stopped printing right after 4 months. I stopped using it, as it NO LONGER WORKED. When I got around in month 8 I was told the part that needed to be replaced was not sold by itself. I was told I had to buy the whole assembly, and disassemble the printer to replace the print head. Thanks to YouTube I found a fix that was easy after ordering bearings from China for $4.00 I now have it working, and 9 spare bearings. The soft aluminum gear wears out, the company intentionally did not use any bearing so the gear would wear out quickly. Have ordered the PRUSA I3 Mk3 :) DO NOT BUY XYZ PRINTING PRINTERS !!! Not sure why could not upload picture of the gear:(

Great printer a great price.

This is the first 3D printer I have owned. I needed to print knobs for a vintage Oconnor tripod. It came and printed out of the box the parts I needed. The only issue is you have to use xyz filament, which has limited color choices.

question

What is filament? And what kind of stuff would I be able to make with this size of printer. Could I make patches?
Asked by: Anonymous
This printer was a gift to my teen age grandson. A filament is the spool of material which is some form of materials that feeds into the 3 D printer to make the items that are printed. There are hard plastic filament materials and light plastic. The lighter weight filament is the place to start. This Printer is great. So much more vertical space to make things. Also, this printer is safety conscious because the glass sided and door protect the user from the printer in action.
