ikan VX7C Overview

Featuring cross conversion of HDMI to SDI and SDI to HDMI signals, ikan's VX7c-1 7" On-Camera Monitor with Cross Converting 3G-SDI & HDMI InputsCanon 900, Sony L, Panasonic D54 Type Battery Plates is an HD display with built-in display tools that aid you in evaluating focus and exposure, while simultaneously providing both 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs from your camera's signal whether it be HDMI or SDI. The monitor includes Canon 900, Sony L, Panasonic D54 type battery plates and optionally accepts V-mount and Anton Bauer pro battery plates via mounting holes on its rear panel. The monitor accepts and displays Tally signals on the LCD screen so the operator can view them; it also displays Tally signals via three small LEDs on the monitor's back panel.

The LCD panel features IPS (In Plane Switching) allowing 170° of off axis viewing. The screen has a rating of 400 NIT for brightness with an 800:1 contrast ratio. Four, assignable, front panel, control buttons allow you program and access often used menu functions. A host of display tools are incorporated into the monitor, including Histogram, False Color, Peaking, ikan's clip guides exposure evaluation system, DSLR Scaling, and movable 1:1 pixel display.

HD & IPS
The screen has a resolution of 1280 x 800 and features IPS functionality), which gives you a wide viewing angle of 170° by 170° and which also gives you a more accurate color rendition when viewing off-angle.
Dual Tally Systems
The monitor features front and back tally systems: three different colors on-screen, and three LED lights on the back of the panel. When the tally is connected, it lets the user know when they are recording or switched to on air.
Cross Conversion
The VX7c-1 cross converts input signals from the HD/3G-SDI and HDMI inputs to the outputs. Both the HD/3G-SDI and HDMI outputs are active at all times, so you have one signal in and two outputs. This allows you to use the VX7c-1 as a distribution hub for integrating into either an HDMI or SDI system.
Mounting
Four 1/4"-20 threaded mounting holes, one on the top, bottom, and each side, are incorporated into the monitor.

The monitor features 3G-SDI, HDMI, Composite, and Component inputs and outputs.
Support for Multiple Battery Solutions
Your VX7c-1 comes with Canon 900, Sony L, Panasonic D54 battery plates; however, optional V-mount or Anton Bauer pro battery plates are available.
Peaking
Peaking highlights the sharpest (most in focus) areas of the image with a color outline. The VX7c-1 features two modes, monochrome, and color. The monochrome mode shows the image in black and white with the red peaking outline and the color peaking mode shows the image in color with a red peaking outline. Both the peaking color and sensitivity can be adjusted in the monitor's menu system
Histogram
Provides you a view that shows you the total number of pixels for each tonal value and displays it as a graph. This allows you to judge how much of your image is over exposed normally exposed or under exposed.
False Color
The False Color feature provides under/over luminance warning by presenting the image as a series of color values representing exposure.
Clip Guides
ikan's exclusive Adjustable Under Exposure and Over Exposed Warning feature is an extension of false color. It allows the operator to set the preferred IRE exposure limits and the operator is warned when the image exposure exceeds or falling under the preset IRE limit.
DSLR Scaling
The DSLR Scaling function enables you to extend your DSLR's HDMI output to any option of four display options: Normal, 3:2, 16:9 or Full Screen.
Movable Pixel-to-Pixel
The VX7c-1's 1:1 pixel-to-pixel mapping allows you to look at parts of your image without any scaling, so you can see the actual detail and not be fooled by scaling artifacts.
