The DDP-64SiX Indexing Rotator for Panoramas from Sunwayfoto has four selectable click-stop increments, including 18, 12, 8, and 4 stops that correspond to stopping every 20°, 30°, 45°, or 90°, respectively. This improved model now lines up the index mark on the base with the mounting holes on the top.

The modular design of the DDP-64SiX adds an Arca-Swiss dovetail plate to the rotator. Without the dovetail you can mount the unit directly onto a tripod, however once you add the dovetail the rotator gains the Arca-type quick release on the base, and it can fit into any Arca-type clamp or tripod head.

Combining CNC machined aluminum parts, with a compact and durable design, the DDP-64SiX also provides for very precise, fluid rotation required of many photographers. You can also change click stops on-the-fly, which is ideal in time-sensitive situations when shooting must be completed quickly. These include shooting high resolution multi-image mosaics, or shooting the same scene at different focal lengths.

For 360 x 180° Spherical & HDR Panoramas
With precision CNC machined components, precisely engraved marking & lubricated bearings for smooth rotation allow full spherical panoramas to be quickly and accurately captured
Four Detent Intervals: 18, 30, 45 & 90°
With four different click-stop increments (detent intervals), including 20x, 12x, 8x, and 4x, you can set your rotator to stop every 18°, 30°, 45°, or 90°, respectively. This detent interval can also be changed in seconds, with a knob for locking rotation
64mm Diameter/Nadir Footprint
Diameter of 64 mm provides sufficient precision and stability while keeping the nadir footprint small
Arca-Swiss Dovetail Plate Included
Adding an Arca-type dovetail plate to the rotator adds a quick release base that can fit into any Arca-type clamp or tripod head. Without the dovetail you can mount the unit directly onto a tripod, though there may then be fewer applications available to you
Up to 17.6lb Supported Weight Capacity
More than 17 lb of weight is supported

Not a good rotator

I was looking for a panning platform on top of my ball head that light and reliable (I have Nodal Ninja RD16 II which I have used for more than 3 years. It works great but heavy, and thats why I am looking for a lighter option). I was hesitating when I saw this one as there was not much reviews about this rotator, but I finally decided to give a try. I order one also the FEISOL PB-70 from B&H 7 weeks ago.  It was panning smoothly when I first used it, and the panning locking knob seems strong. However, after one month use, the panning gets more friction. I am expecting it will get worse when I use it more.  I dont recommend this one. If you want a rotator with degree/click-stop, then the Nodal Ninja is a good option. If you only need a simple panning platform, FEISOL PB-70 is an inexpensive but robust one which I bought and I am happy with its value and building quality.

Can this be used to replace the rotator on a Nodal Ninja 3?
Asked by: Richard
Looking over the Nodal Ninja rotator models, we would have to say no. The Nodal Ninja's have screw holes whereas the Sunwayfoto has a screw on top and Arca Swiss below. In order that we may further assist you, please write telling us what you wish to do. [email protected].

Will the Arca-Swiss plate fit on the Peak Design Travel Tripod?
Asked by: John
As the Sunwayfoto DDP-64SiX Indexing Rotator for Panoramas includes an Arca-type dovetail plate that may be added onto the base of the unit, yes, it would be compatible for use on the Peak Design Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod or the Peak Design Aluminum Travel Tripod.

What size screws fit the threaded holes in the TOP? I'd like to be able to mount something extra to it with two screws. They should be the same size as the ones that are used to mount the arca swiss plate to the bottom.
Asked by: Joe
The top holes are 1/4-20" and the bottom holes are both 1/4-20" and 3/8".
