Works perfectly as designed and my MR-14EX II rides snuggly at end of my EF 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS USM. But why didn’t Canon just build this feature into the lens like they did with my much older and far less expensive EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro? Looks like my EF 180mm f/3.5 Macro will require a separate adapter (72c), if I want to mount my ring light on that lens. Seems like the feature should have been standard on these 2 L lenses. Mine is probably not a unique observation.

I bought the Macro Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT and needed this adapter. I've read about other people trying different solutions, but apparently those were clunky. This one is solid and the mating between lens and flash is great!
