The edelkrone Pocket Rig 2 is a compact and portable DSLR base that folds out to provide a versatile support arm and 15mm rods. It attaches to the bottom of your DSLR or mirrorless camera via a 1/4"-20 thumbscrew and has a form similar to a battery grip when folded, so it won't interfere with photo taking and traditional handheld work. It can also be used with compact camcorders. When you need more stability for video recording, simply fold out the Pocket Rig's fully adjustable support arm that functions as a chest/shoulder brace. By using the belt groove on the support piece, you can also use your belt to support the weight of the rig for stable shots with less arm fatigue.

More than just a support arm, the Pocket Rig 2 also features 15mm rods that can fold out in a matter of seconds, allowing you to attach a follow focus, matte box, handles, or other 15mm rod accessories. The rods can extend up to 7". At the base of the rig is a 1/4"-20 threaded hole, allowing you to mount it directly onto a tripod or tripod plate and serve as a 15mm rod baseplate for your camera.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok, but kind of a let down so far Cool idea, but not so great in reality. The first thing you'll notice is how heavy this thing is. I purchased the FollowOne directly from Edelkrone to go with this. I'm not sure if it is the Follow Focus or the rods fault, but 40% of the time when I try to use the follow focus the equipment has shifted or has too much flexibility and caused the gears to slip/miss. There may be something I can do to fix it but can be annoying quickly. All of the moving parts on the shoulder part work well but the joint on the part that touches your shoulder will be tight then move without much notice. It can be worked around, but again something to improve on.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Gret idea and build is solid, but.... No matter how much I tighten the extending support arm, it still slides with even a moderate amount of pressure. That being said, the rig is small, light, and folds down into an unbelievably tiny brick. If the arm would stay tight, I'd give it 5 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely Not All Hype I own two PocketRigs, one for each of my GH4's. I use them all the time on all sorts of active shoots. This thing is solid, it's portable and it just works the way it's intended. I don't like nor use large shoulder rigs, and this well-designed pocket rig works for me. My camera attaches via it's tripod mount to a very grippy and secure base. The fold-out 15mm rods support my mic, another handle (used when I'm not filming and just need to rest), and a follow focus knob. The extendable shoulder (or chest) stock presses against me without collapsing. This is a small and very functional setup. With anything that you use regularly and professionally, you'll need to do maintenance. Any slop that was generated after weeks of use was simply remedied with a tightening of the specific areas that needed it. An allen wrench is included to do this. I am definitely a happy customer, and Edelkrone will make sure you are as well. One of my original PocketRig's 15mm rod broke when I dropped the entire rig, and Edelkrone had me back up and running in no time. I'm glad the rod broke because it saved the camera and mic from becoming casualties. It's a great product and it has, and will, continue to serve me on all my shoots.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Is this item all hype? have only had this item for a few days. After playing around with it & adjusting the retractable support, I noticed that it was never tight. I found that the tension screw was stripped and turned freely with no end, I just contacted B&H customer service and will update this review after receiving a replacement unit. I really want to like the pocket rig 2 but the tension screw threads seem soft. I will see how the replacement unit fares.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice, easy, light The Pocket Rig 2 is a nice run and gun solution. It's no steady cam or gimbal but it's not intended to be.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nope I am disappointed with this. My 2 stars are for the fact that it is perhaps the most compact rig in existence. Aside from that, this thing is not for me. If there was a way to lock the arm, or if the plate on top was their quick release, i'd be stoked. I have a piece of metal with a handle on the end, and it works better than this. I want to love Edelkrone, they are innovative, but it seems they are not actual film makers because their products haven't held up for me in practical ways (This being the 3rd thing I have bought from them).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product Loved using this for a run-and-gun trip to the South Pacific. It is extremely well-made and designed. It's HEAVY, but that honestly helps with stability. My only complaint is that the shoulder stock doesn't tighten down well enough, so I can't put as much pressure as I would like on my shoulder for stability without the extension collapsing. I wish the knob would tighten better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Edelkrone Quality ... Always worth it! GH5+600mm lens ... handholding? Ouch. FS700 with no rig .. handholding? OUCH! Rather than kit up some huge vest support system (which are great, but large and cumbersome making it hard to run and gun especially if you don't appreciate being noticed ...) I opted for thisPocket Rig 2 thing. It's not perfect .. I would say I wish I had otehr options for it, like a little longer, and/or more options for flex joints/angles, but it is definitely a big help. It is heavy .. .but very well engineered. The rod system is a great idea, and well implemented. A small follow focus and lens support for bigger lenses is in my future. I never did want to have a full rod/matte box rig ... sure they look cool and are quite useful but too much tweaking, as well as large. This will suit my needs for such. The pivot points are something you can easily tighten, and this helps immensely, however you want to really work with it to tighten the minimum for your needs .. this makes it easier to deploy, as well as reduces wear on the joints. I wish there was a dedicated slot for the 3mm hex key so it would always be with the unit. I wish the entire unit was smaller and lighter, but lost none of its functionality or strength. Hah. So I say good job Edelkrone .. another useful (niche) tool!
