Key Features
  • Compact and Portable DSLR Rig
  • Foldout Support Arm and 15mm Rods
  • Shoulder Stock with Belt Groove
  • 15mm Rods Extend up to 7"
The edelkrone Pocket Rig 2 is a compact and portable DSLR base that folds out to provide a versatile support arm and 15mm rods. It attaches to the bottom of your DSLR or mirrorless camera via a 1/4"-20 thumbscrew and has a form similar to a battery grip when folded, so it won't interfere with photo taking and traditional handheld work. It can also be used with compact camcorders. When you need more stability for video recording, simply fold out the Pocket Rig's fully adjustable support arm that functions as a chest/shoulder brace. By using the belt groove on the support piece, you can also use your belt to support the weight of the rig for stable shots with less arm fatigue.

Love that this can fit into my camera back and be ready to use so quickly!

Nope

I am disappointed with this. My 2 stars are for the fact that it is perhaps the most compact rig in existence. Aside from that, this thing is not for me. If there was a way to lock the arm, or if the plate on top was their quick release, i'd be stoked. I have a piece of metal with a handle on the end, and it works better than this. I want to love Edelkrone, they are innovative, but it seems they are not actual film makers because their products haven't held up for me in practical ways (This being the 3rd thing I have bought from them).

question

I shoot mostly run and gun documentary work.. I'll use a tripod or slider for certain shots, but often have to pick the camera up in a hurry to catch something. How feasible would it be to have a quick release plate (small arca swiss plate) attached to the bottom of the Pocket Rig 2? Would it affect the designed ease of use or overall functionality? Would it still be solid to mount to a quick release receiver on tripod?
Asked by: Ryan
I use a cage with bmpcc. The manfrotto tripod release plate Left on. I only use handle and side grip. Rhode mic and battery Attached to cage. The added benefit of rig 2 is 15mm and extension for body or belt support. For me I needed everything attached and light weight so the rig 2 was not suited for application. As far as stability the viewfactor cage is solid on tripod. I would think plate and release would be ok. The rig 2 requires adjustments for stability. Very compact and perfect for kit on the go. I hope this helps

question

Would this work with the Sony FS5? It's small and lightweight but the description only specifies DSLR cameras.
Asked by: Matthew
I own this mount and use it with a gh4. My option is that the Sony FS5 would be too big...at least for my preference.

Is there an estimated stock date for the Pocket Rig as well as for some other Edelkrone products, namely the Pocket Skater?
