This Background Pad from Ricoh is set in front of the ScanSnap SV600 during scanning and is where documents for scanning are placed. One mat is included with the scanner and this is available here as a replacement or spare.
This pad is useful. However, the SV600 scanner already comes with one. The felt material eliminates reflective glare from compromising scans, but it quickly becomes covered in dust and lint.
We are the Texas Prison Museum and needed to scan bound books and large items. The equipment was easy to set up and the software installation went without a hitch. We have had only a brief opportunity to use the SV600 but it is impressive thus far. The scanner is easy to operate. I foresee that we will get great use of this scanner. It has a small footprint and is quiet. After more use, it may rate a 5 star.
