Nissin Di700A reviews

Di700A Flash Kit with Air 1 Commander for Nikon Cameras is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a must have I have both Nikon and Sony gear. I wanted to have a lighting system that would work for both. I sold 3 sb700, 3 wizard tti transceivers. Then I turn around and got a Nissin with a commander for my Nikon and two versions for the Sony. The commanders are way easy to use, the strobe controls are few and way simple moving into hss is a breeze. And if I need extra lights, the strobes convert into slaves with one button! I have two different commanders and essentially three lights for each system. And I got them with the rebate. Even without the rebate, it's a stinkin' steal! BTW I got $ for the nikons and spent under $ for the three! No regrets!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best flash yet This flash system convinced me to stay with Nikon (they don't make one for Fuji). The build quality is very good, it's fast, good build, and the TTL works flawlessly. It works great on camera and off camera. The interface is also very clever and it is easy to figure out. Be careful when shooting events and shooting really fast, you might need to get the extra battery pack, because after 4 or 5 shots on high power, it will not fire and you might miss the shot. The battery pack will take care of that. I also want to eventually get the battery magazine when it's available, B&H # NINDBM02, which will allow me to easily switch from the dead batteries to the new ones.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Brilliant Flash For years I have been using slave flashes on wireless triggers. They lit the scene well but if I wanted to change anything I had to put the camera down and adjust the flash. With this system I just make the adjustments on the commander. As the receiver is built-in, the flash mounts more securely on a monopod or flash bracket and doesn't need anything strapped to the unit. This means I don't have to keep checking if my flash is secure when I am in situations that require me to move quickly (sports/wildlife). Used in TTL mode I found it simple enough to compensate for the differences due to distance/angle to subject, Diffusers and Auto FP. It might take a bit more practice until I am completely confident, but I can see a world of creative possibilities opening before my lens. I will still use my slave flashes. I will just use this fash to trigger them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance out of the box. Tremendous value. At a significantly lower price point than my Nikon SB700, the Nissin offers more power, faster recycling time, solid build, and the most user-friendly off-camera TTL system I can imagine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much better than Nikon brand I'll admit, I was nervous to go off-Nikon brand, but so glad I took a pro's recommendation! Not only did I save 50% but this thing is so much easier to use than my SB-800. The menu is so user-friendly, and it's backlit so can always be easily read. The color temperature is just as good as the Nikon brand. I like it so much, I bought three.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great flash I had a hard time pairing the flash gun with the commander. After watching a demo on Youtube, everything went very smoothly. Great for portrait and outdoor fill-in. It does communicate very well with my Nikon D810.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simplicity I'm just learning about artificial lighting, so it was a great relief for me to find that the Nissin system is so simple to use. The system comes with minimal instructions (4 stars instead of 5), but the quick start card and short videos on YouTube had me up and running in less than 30 minutes. The manual and TTL functions are easy to navigate. I haven't worked with the zoom functions yet. I like the back lights on the speed light and the commander. They are easy to read and the functions are intuitive. I have the speed lights on stands with umbrellas which provides a very portable set up. I can't speak to the more sophisticated functions of this lighting system, but function and simplicity are what I'm after. This system provides both. Amateur

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice system for multi flash operation. Works well. Command module requires you purchase a mounting bracket to use flash on camera while it is in use. Using 2 Di700 flash units one on camera bracket and one on a tripod controlled by the Commander. System works well with my D5000.
