Matias FK303 overview

  • 1Description

Small enough to take on the go and complete enough to use at home, the white Matias Mini Tactile Pro Keyboard for Mac is a convenient choice for comfort and travel. It is small enough to slip into your laptop sleeve, and is supplied with a removable travel cable for easier transport. A 6.5' cable for home use is provided as well.

The Mini Tactile Pro's laser-etched keys will retain their symbols even after lengthy use, and the sculpted shape helps keep your fingers centered without slipping. Designed for use with Macs, it has all the same function keys as a traditional Apple keyboard. Anti-Ghosting Circuitry prevents skipped and added letters, no matter how fast you type. Three USB 2.0 ports on the Mini Tactile Pro expand functionality, allowing you to plug in flash drives, digital cameras, a mouse, or other peripherals.

Shortcuts & Function Keys
Just like an Apple keyboard, the Mini Tactile Pro's function keys let you control screen brightness, volume, iTunes, and more. And the Fn key lets you momentarily change the function keys back to their traditional duties when you need them. Some handy symbols, such as €, £, and ™, are printed right on the keys - hold down the Option key for the bottom-right characters, or Shift-Option for top-right characters.
Laser-Etched, Anti-Ghosting Keys
The keys on the Mini Tactile Pro are laser etched - burned into the keys with a laser - so they won't wear off and leave you searching for the symbol you need. The key tops are also sculpted to fit the curve of your fingertips, to keep your fingers from sliding out of home position. And thanks to Anti-Ghosting Circuitry, no matter how fast you type, the Mini Tactile Pro can keep up without ghosting - no letters missing, and no additional letters that you didn't type.

    Matias FK303 reviews

Mini Tactile Pro Keyboard for Mac is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is my second time buying one of these. I like this keyboard because you can feel the keys. They have a depression in the middle. Flat keyboards are hard to use. I will not try to clean this second one like I did the first as I ruined it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly wonderful! As an old newspaper veteran of typewriter city rooms I've been suffering for 40 odd years from low-profile computer keyboards. Now comes the Matias? No more mistakes. Good song, no more silence. Speed has tripled; now I'm back to my blazing performance on the the old Royal Standards. Congrats.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from At last! A keyboard that fits my fingers. This keyboard is comfortable and provides all the features of the newer flat keyboards. My fingers settle right in. It also has the clacky sound that typewriters used to make, and I'm not sure that is a plus--thus the four stars instead of five. VERY nice touch. Fast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Keyboard for touch typists I am a touch typist who makes much of my living writing. I have been using Apple's Magic Keyboard for the last four years. I thought I loved the keyboard, but recently I realized that I was making more mistakes than I should. Okay, yes, the "e" key was going out, but it alerted me to how many mistakes I was making otherwise that were being fixed with the spellchecker in ways of which I didn't approve. :) I thought I would give this mechanical keyboard a try. What a difference. I didn't realize how much I rely on feedback. I took a typing speed test with the new computer and I scored 76wpm (335cpm) with 100% accuracy. There is no way I would have had a 100% accuracy with the other keyboard, even if the "e" key was working. I like the layout of the keyboard and appreciate that there is no learning curve for using it on my Mac since it utilizes a similar layout but with more of the functions labeled. If you are not a touch typist, I don't think this board will make much of a difference. However, if you do touch type, this keyboard gives great feedback. It is noisy, but I chose this noisy version on purpose as the noise is part of the feedback for me. However, if you don't like a noisy keyboard or work in an environment with others nearby, you may want to go with the quiet version of this keyboard. I definitely am happy with my purchase.
