    Shure PGA-57 reviews

PGA57-XLR Cardioid Dynamic Instrument Microphone with XLR Cable (15') is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good mic, great price. NOT FOR HAND HELD When I bought this mic, I could hardly find any reviews online, so here is my experience after 4 months of use. Construction: I like the design and finish. If you open the mic you might not like what you will find. the capsule is not attached to the body and it might get out of its place. Ive seen this in various units, its not just mine. Sound: Its a good mic for what you pay, they had to cut corners to maintain a good price, but the sound quality is not one of them. Its a nice sounding mic. Weird noise: the biggest problem Ive had is that the body of the mic seems to make a weird high pitch long lasting sound when you touch it and it resonates when a the source sound sound matches the tone of the mic body, weird, its the first time Ive seen this tipe of problem in a mic, its hard to describe buy it sound like hitting muted bell. I had to stuff the mic with foam to cut down the weird sound a little bit but its still present. as a conclusion, Im happy with it. I use it for toms, its a little muddy in the high mid range for Guitar cabs, Ive even used it on vocals (with a stand) and had good results. If you are interested in hearing the mic you can fin us in youtube as Duck Sessions, you will be able to find the mic in some videos.
