Cooler Master N400 Reviews
Nice mid-tower with room for growth
As a non-gamer I was looking for a computer case with adequate cooling for upper end processors, room for growth, and sturdy construction. If you are like me and looking for a quality product and have no intentions of covering it in RGBs and could care less about seeing its insides after assembly, this case should serve you well.
Good case
Good case for the price. Easy to take advantage of features.
Excellent case
Very well designed for ATX/Micro ATX motherboards. Great value for money.
Does the job
I wanted a case that would fit everything and not flash bright lights in my room at night. It was easy to build in it and functions well.
OK, but not outstanding.
I have used Cooler Master cases for many years, and this one looks good and has the right layout. Nevertheless, it has lighter gauge steel and somewhat sloppy manufacture. For example, the holes for mounting the motherboard are just a wee bit off the mark. While I believe it represents decent value for the price, it does not seem as well made as my previous Cooler Master cases. Not bad for the price - just not excellent. TT
Unable to connect the front USB 3.0 cable
I am building a computer as a home file server. I was looking for a cheap case that has plenty of room for my 3.5'' HDDs and portable disk enclosures. This case looked quite a good fit (7 3.5'' HDD and 4 2.5'' disks). Especially, it doesn't have an enclosed PSU chamber, which is actually preferred because I use a fanless PSU. Given the price point, I didn't expect too much from this case. So it is acceptable that this is no design effort made for cable management and the case is a little bit flimsy. The build quality is so so, I actually got my finger cut when installing the components -- I was fine with this. However, this is a serious design failure: the level of the motherboard is LOWER than the surrounding area, making it is difficult or even impossible to connect cables to motherboard connectors with horizon orientation. In my case, I cannot connect the front USB 3.0 cable to the motherboard. I tried with some force, just got one pin in the connector bent (Pic 1). I checked my other computer. The motherboard has the same design, but no problem at all (Pic 2). I can't recommend this case even at its current price. For example, NZXT H510 costs only $10 more, and it has a way modern design and great build quality. I would go for it if I don't need many slots for 3.5'' HDDs.
Just as it looks - good.
Just like it looks, there's lots of airflow from front-to-back and also out the top, and plenty of hard drive bays. Perfect for putting a home server inside, some quiet lower-speed fans, and having it run cool and happy.
