Add an ergonomic grip to your camera with the CB-800 Universal Pistol Grip with Shutter Release from Vello. The CB-800 is designed for compact cameras weighing up to 2.5 lb, and connects via the camera's 1/4"-20 tripod mount. Grooves allow your fingers to comfortably wrap around the grip, and a trigger under your index finger acts as a shutter button with the use of an optional 2.5mm shutter release cable. The shutter can be locked for continuous or bulb shooting. A 1/4"-20 female threaded socket on the bottom of the grip enables a variety of mounting options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great way to hold a long lens I'm using the Vello CB-800 Pistol Grip on the new Lumix Leica 100-400mm lens. It is fantastic. It a comfortable and balanced way to hold this long lens. It frees my other hand to make camera and end settings. And, it is a stable way to hold the camera steady while releasing the shutter. I've tested the trigger button using the Vello 2.5mm cable release plugged into my GX8 body. I prefer however to use the cameras shutter release.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, useful and reasonably priced item I purchased the grip to better hand-hold my Canon 7D II with the Tamron 150-600 mm lens when I cannot use a monopod or tripod. Because I need to switch rather frequently from the pistol grip to monopod/tripod I have attached to it an Arca-Swiss quick release plate. I am also using a cable to connect the camera to the grip. Because my camera&zoom lens is heavy I would have preferred a slightly larger pistol grip; however this combination is more than satisfactory for my needs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT a good way to hold a long lens I thought this would be a good way to hold a long lens. I tried it out on the Panasonic 100-400, which has a tripod socket. Consider how you hand hold a long lens. You probably have your right hand on the body/shutter release and your left hand supporting the front of the lens. Now imagine sliding your left hand back, to where the tripod socket is. You would not be as effective at holding the lens. That is what this grip offers. The lens' tripod socket is in the perfect location for one there is only one point of support - if you have two points, the tripod socket (where this grip goes) is too far back. This grip may be fine for holding a light body/lens, but I do not recommend it for attaching to a long lens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not for my Hasselblad Stellar Special Edition Digital Camera Feels nice and screws into my Hasselblad Stellar Special Edition Digital Camera (Champagne/Carbon Fiber), but it is impossible to find the attachment for the trigger, so it's actually useless to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Firm Grip The first time I used the pistol grip the two models thought I had a machine gun. So, pistol grip would be the accurate description I suppose. :) The grip is very light weight. It isn't cheaply made, but inexpensively made. By that I mean you really don't want a grip to compete in weight to your camera. The grip more than adequately does its job. The grip makes the small 4/3 camera easy to hold and maneuver. You will have to buy separately the 2 1/2 mm cable to connect the grip shutter release to your camera if you want to use that feature. If you do however, be forewarned that you'll have to open the camera connections flap and that will impede the use of your articulated screen. You made decide, like me, just to use the grip alone and retain my full functionality of the articulated screen. You really can't go wrong for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from pistol grip I was having problems with sharp hand held photographs. The Pistol Grip provided that extra little support. I recommend it highly. Rick

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of those really handy accessories to have Tightens down nicely, robust and really does help steady the camera with a long lens. It is all plastic but what the heck- it works.
