The MS-040UN Biological Microscope Kit from Carson combines a 40-400x biological microscope and a universal digiscoping adapter for smart devices. Together they comprise a versatile kit that enables you not only to view your samples with your eyes but also to take pictures and videos with your favorite smart device.

The monocular viewing MS-040UN Biological Microscope is a three-objective optic with top and bottom variable LED illumination and a 45°-inclined wide field 10x eyepiece. This microscope also features 40x, 100x, and 400x magnifying power, a 3.5x3.5" square stage with two spring-loaded metal clips, and a 0.65 Abbe condenser. Your samples can be illuminated from above or below using the two LED light sources. To provide you with even more viewing enhancements, the microscope offers a filter wheel with five color options. The power adapter is compatible with 110-240V international electrical outputs and does not require an optional voltage converter.

To offer you with an opportunity to take pictures and videos of your samples with your smart device, this kit includes an IS-100 HookUpz Universal Adapter for digiscoping without the EVO case. This adapter allows you to connect most smartphones to the microscope, except phablets Samsung Galaxy Note, iPhone 6 Plus, and Lumina 920. Additionally, the adapter is compatible with most sports optics that have eyepieces with diameters from 20mm to 58mm but will not work with riflescopes. An added convenience is a self-centering clamp that helps you to align the optical path of the microscope's eyepiece with a camera of your smart device. Using two point-alignment lock knobs, the adapter needs to be aligned only once and ensures repeatability of optical alignment for subsequent use. With a single-arm clamp, repeated attachment and quick-release of your device are quick and easy.

    The MS-040 Biological Monocular Microscope from Carson is a three-objective optic with top and bottom LED illumination that provides operators with multiple configurations to view the specimen. This entry-level microscope is capable of 40x, 100x, and 400x magnification, well-suited for viewing plant life, circuit boards, and more. The 90x90mm stage can be illuminated from above and/or below using the microscope's two LED light sources. Providing even more control over specimen illumination, the MS-040 features a 0.65NA condenser with 6-position diaphragm.

  • HookUpz Universal Optics Adapter for Smartphones

    Converting your phone's screen into a digital magnifier, the Carson HookUpz Universal Optics Adapter allows you to mount a smartphone and case on an optic, such as a binocular, spotting scope, telescope, or loupe, that features an eyepiece housing 20-58mm in diameter and at least 14mm deep. Compatible with dual-camera phones such as the iPhone 7, it is a self-centering adapter that will hold the phone and optic for taking photos and video. It uses two point alignment locking levers that do not require additional adjustment after the initial setup.

    The releasable clamp features a single arm for installing and removing the phone rapidly. Also, it is very portable and will not be a hassle to carry with you. It even includes an EVA case for storage and travel. An additional benefit to this adapter is the use of glow-in-the-dark rubber, making low light situations much easier to handle.
