Blending an updated appearance with proven optical qualities, the black-chrome edition Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH. Lens features a unique matte black finish and red scale markings to give it a classic appearance complementary to the body finish of many of Leica's M cameras. While distinct in its outward design, the internal design retains the same design as the contemporary Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH., including the use of one aspherical element to control chromatic aberrations throughout the aperture and focusing ranges. The seven-elements-in-five-groups construction helps to nearly eliminate all distortions and produce a high degree of contrast, sharpness, and resolving power. Despite its wide-angle focal length and fast f/2 maximum aperture, this manual focus lens still remains relatively compact to benefit its use as an everyday, go-to lens for M shooters.
