Sunwayfoto PCL-7DIIR Overview

CNC machined from solid aluminum, the PCL-7DIIR L Bracket from Sunwayfoto enables reliable camera support for both horizontal and vertical shooting atop a tripod or monopod. It is dedicated to the Canon 7D Mark II DSLR and is compatible with both Arca-type and Really Right Stuff lever clamps.

A convex edge design cradles the camera to prevent twisting or shifting during use and safety stop screws prevent accidental slipping during installation or removal. The left side of the bracket features a broad gap to allow unrestricted access to the camera's ports and the skeleton-style design helps to minimize the overall weight. With Arca-style dovetails incorporated on both sides of the bracket, as well as a durable aluminum alloy construction, this L bracket benefits a faster and more efficient tripod workflow.

Arca-style dovetails on both sides of the bracket are compatible with both Arca and Really Right Stuff style clamps and permit quick switching between horizontal and vertical shooting orientations.
A convex edge design prevents the camera from twisting or shifting when attached. Additionally, safety stop screws prevent accidental slipping when during installation and removal.
The left side of the bracket features a gap to permit full access to all of the camera's ports.
Skeleton-style design minimizes the overall weight while a CNC-machined aluminum alloy construction, with black anodized finish, benefits its durability.

question

is this bracket compatible with the original canon 7d?
Asked by: les R.
This bracket is for the 7D Mark II and will not be compatible with the original 7D. You can instead use a Kirk L bracket.

Can I use a Manfrotto QR2 quick release with this?
Asked by: Jerry
Jerry - your question was referred to me because I purchased the PCL-7DIIR L Bracket. Unfortunately, I cannot address your question. I replaced my QR2 quick release with an Oben BE-126 Arca Swiss compatible ball head. I just felt that was a better move than looking at having to make an adaptation to use the L bracket.with my QR2.

I own both a 7D Mk II and a 5D Mk III. Can this bracket be used on the 5D Mk III? Since the camera exteriors are very similar it seems possible.

This is not compatible with the 5DIII, it is made specifically for the 7DII.

The least expensive L-bracket specifically for the 5D Mark II without a battery grip is the Kirk BL-5DII L-Bracket for Canon 5D MarkII B&H # KIBL5DM2.

question

Will this bracket work with the Arca-Swiss compatible Markins ballhead specifically with the lever closure? I have a Markins L-bracket designed for my 5D Mark III, but they don't have an L-bracket specifically for 7D Mark II and their universal won't allow cable release to be plugged in. Screw closure might allow more leeway, but I have the lever. Thanks in advance.
Asked by: Carol
Thanks everyone, for the input. I bought it and it works just fine with my Markins Q-3 Emile lever ballhead. :)

question

Will this work with Rebel T3i?
Asked by: Errol A.
I rather doubt it. These brackets are made to fit specific models only. The shape and the cutouts are to accommodate the various flaps and doors. While I dont specifically know if this will work on the 3Ti when I upgraded my 6D to the 6DMK2 I had to get a new bracket because they wouldnt interchange.
