    ViewSonic VP2780-4K reviews

    VP2780-4K 27" 4K IPS Monitor is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased Since purchasing my Mac Pro (Cylinder) I have been waiting for the right combination of price and performance in a 4k monitor. The Viewsonic VP2780-4k seemed to fit the bill. I am very pleased with the monitor. It set up perfectly with my Mac Pro and all of the scaling options in El Capitan worked perfectly. I am not a gamer, but work mostly in Photoshop CS and general productivity software. Be aware that you do need an accessory cable to connect Macs... I purchased the Iogear Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable for this purpose. This was the only cable that B&H had available at the time of my order that supported DisplayPort 1.2, which you need. Recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks awesome Overall really happy with this purchase. I came from a 1280x1024 BENQ monitor, which was decent but at least a tier below this one. 4K looks amazing, and the color on this thing is great. Worked right away in win 7 and win 10. The capacitive buttons are a little fiddly but not horrible. Slim profile and tasteful, understated bezel with no stupid logos like almost every other monitor has. Do you really need an HDMI or DP logo on the front? Sheesh... The stand is pretty sturdy but I plan to put it on an arm soon. Comes with plenty of cables. Packaging was good. Overall - glad I got it. Would recommend to anyone looking to step up their monitor game, or get a reasonably affordable unit for pro-sumer level work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful monitor, performance and color i have a ASUS PB298Q 29 5ms 2560x1080 ips monitor. to viewsonic 4k, so much more real estate, the colors are crispy and so much sharper than the asus monitor. web browsing is 2x better. you will be able to tell the difference. future proof with hdmi 2.0. i thought going from 29 to 27 that it would be a starck loss but it is not. granted the 29 asus was widescreen and limited to max resolution of 2560x1080. this monitor by far has better contrast, color clarity, everything. waiting on amd nano graphics card to come out to utilize 4k in 60hz stuck at 4k in 30hz because my amd 7970 is not capable or compatible

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ecellent monitor I use this monitor primarily for photo editing. It is of perfect size for that. The colors are natural and beautiful. It has plenty of ports that you can connect it to any computer. Also it has several usb ports that you can connect your external drives etc. It does not have speakers. When you connect it to the computer by the hdmi cable there is no sound unless you provide additional speakers or a soundbar. I would prefer that a soundbar came with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dual 60Hz 4K on my 2009 Mac Pro In short, these are the best monitors I've ever used. I wrote a much longer review at another popular site, but basically, the display is gorgeous, the stand is perfect, and the variety of inputs works well for me. It was hard for me to buy my first VP2780-4K; it was easy to buy the second. Careful to get the correct cables, the 7950 in my Mac Pro with 5,1 firmware can drive two of these for my needs. It is an amazing difference, made much more obvious when viewing websites that don't serve clear Retina/@2x images. The move to 4K is like the first day you used a Retina iPhone. But there's cheaper monitors; why this ViewSonic? I picked this one for a variety of reasons, but beyond the tech specs after a few months the subtle and slim trim, compared to what it replaced, is nice aesthetically. I can't make use of VESA arms so the stand that this monitor comes with is on its own worth a lot to me just to be able to set the vertical height perfectly. You'll probably see complaints the buttons aren't physical; I like the capacitive touch and rarely change menu settings after disabling the power LED but it is true it can be hard to orient yourself or read the labels in a dimly lit room. So turn on a light if you have to switch to HDMI. There's options; if you're reading about this product I hope you're already sold on 4K. It's nice to have a calibrated monitor, even if it's running Flux half the time. The various HDMI ports are useful for temporary connections to other machines. The onboard USB 3.0 is convenient when you just want to plug in some device quickly. The stand basically does anything you want, and the two clips on the base do a good job corralling cables. The power brick runs warm but is small enough to sit on my desk. I like, above all of that, the aesthetics the most. The trim is slim. It's about an inch thick on the frame, width and depth, with another inch of depth on the second smaller unit on the back that things plug in to. There's no distracting logos or useless bright indicator lights, just a subtle dark grey ViewSonic at the bottom I only see if I look for it. There's no stupid model number prominently displayed forever in a contrasting color on the front. There's no gloss or pointless chrome, just matte black plastic. The monitor itself melts away so all I see is what I'm working on or watching.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning Expensive but all things considered this monitor is a bargain. The first thing I did was compare the color and resolution to my HD monitors. I didn't realize how far off they were - even after color adjustment and calibration. Comparable monitors are more costly than this ViewSonic. I got it primarily for photo editing. But after seeing the superior imaging it's difficult not to want to use it for everything. Beautiful rendition and resolution for games that do not require ultra fast response. At 5ms it's a little slow for some games - useable but not blazingly fast. If you watch video, edit photography or do serious color printing this monitor is very highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really awesome monitor Clarity in a monitor that I've never experienced before. Just stunning, buttery smooth and very comfortable to look at. Colors are very pleasing right out of the box - in fact the first thing I saw when I opened the box was the calibration report. I'm very happy with the extra screen real estate too. No, if you're in two minds about what monitor to buy, at this price range - look no further.
