That lens shouldnt be a MACRO lens?
To be called a macro lens, the image has to be recreated in a 1:1 ratio life size on the sensor. With this 100mm lens, focused at it's minimum distance of 12 does come close but not 1:1. I would say it is about 1:2 which may be close enough for you. If needed to get closer, I would use close-up lenses like these.

Rokinon 100mm f/2.8 Macro Lens for Sony E B&H # RO10028SE. Yes, it is more expensive but it is less than the other lens with the adapter. This way the lens mounts directly and you do not have to fiddle with an adapter. Image quality will be the same either way.
