My Acer computer only had one HDMI port and one USB port, but I had two monitors that I needed to connect. I purchased another brand of adapter that didn't work due to a video card issue and driver issue, but this works great. It came with a driver CD that needed to be installed, but B&H got it working for me quickly.

Definitely recommend!

I've been using this adaptor for almost 2 years. I'm running 2 Samsung curved screens in addition to my Macbook Pro screen. It's perfect. Every time I update the OS I typically have to download new drivers, but StarTech keeps them up to date so I've been very happy.

Would I be able to convert the feed from an Camera with an HDMI cable to the USB 3.0 while keeping the resolution?

I do not know. The product is advertised to convert from USB 3 to HDMI with no indication that it can convert in the other direction (other than, presumably, for basic device communication). You need to ask the manufacturer.

Yes it is compatible with macOS 10.6.x per the manufacturer. You will likely need to download a driver from the manufacturer's site.
