The Impact Octacool-9 Fluorescent 2-Light Kit with Case and Stands was put together by B&H to offer photographers and videographers a studio lighting solution in a location-friendly rolling case format.
The kit includes two Octacool-9 fluorescent fixtures with removable aluminum reflectors, two Octaboxes with 29.5" diameters, and eighteen 32W daylight fluorescent lamps and a specially partitioned 37.5 x 18.0 x 16.0" Jumbo Roller bag to take it all on the road.
The Octacool-9 paired with its 29.5" Octabox is a great choice for the photographer or videographer seeking a broad, versatile, flattering light source. Long the preferred light shaper of portrait and fashion shooters, the octagonal shape offers a large surface area that produces a signature wrap-around quality of light with the added benefit of natural-looking catchlights in the eyes of your subject. Each daylight-balanced 32W lamp outputs 1400 lumens of light measured at 3.3' for a total of 12,600 lumens. Switches on the rear of the fixture each provide selective on/off lamp control of to vary the output .
The head's standard 5/8" receiver mounts to a large variety of light stands such as the included 9.5' air-cushioned stands as well as gripware with 5/8" studs. The Octabox has a removable inner baffle and front face allowing even greater flexibility from hard to ultra-soft light. The light head also comes with a removable aluminum reflector for a bright, crisp direct lighting option.
