Electro-Harmonix SOULFOOD Reviews

Nice pedal with a high frequency sibilance

This is a well-known award-winning pedal, even it can be demoed online at tonepedia or stompenberg FX. Enough reasons to get one right? It turns out that when I connect the power to my soul food, be it through the DC adapter or 9V battery, it emits a high pitched noise. It is noticeable when I am close enough to it, e.g. if I place the pedal close to my ears I can clearly sense the sound coming from the inside of the chasis... Sometimes - depending on the EQ settings of the guitar amp - such noise can also be heard from the amp's speaker :(
