The MKE 2 digital omnidirectional condenser microphone is connected via Lightning connector to modern iOS devices - allowing the jack socket to remain free for monitoring headphones as needed. An Apogee external converter does the analog-to-digital signal conversion using 24-bit/96 kHz sampling rate when connected to a iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. This allows for a signal that surpasses CD quality.
