question

Does this come with a carrying case?
Asked by: Sam T.
Hi Sam, You can buy either with or without a case. For single units, you would buy the Kit K154 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1136641-REG/fiilex_flxk154_k154_lighting_kit.html We also have a new X Kit that has a case for 2 units. Not listed yet, just sent info to B&H about 15 mins ago. If you need additional help please email me [email protected]

question

Is this light really 1500w-2000w equivalent? The photometrics say 102 footcandles with 5 lens in flood (57 degrees) @ 3 meters. An Arri T1 1000W fresnel in flood (53 degrees) is 181 footcandles @ 3 meters. It seems that it's not even as bright as a 1K, unless someone's specs aren't accurate.
Asked by: Brett
Hi Brett,The photometries for the Fiilex Q1000 are accurate. Tungsten equivalency is not a particualary accurate measurement tool, but more a general guide to help select the corresponding fixture. It is hard to compare a color-tunable light fixture (2800-6500K) with a tungsten fixture. The FC measurement of the tungsten 1K referenced is 181. So in a tungsten color balance world, yes the tungsten fixture offers more power. Switch to daylight and after adding a CT Blue filter to the tungsten fixture, you would lose 66% at full CT or 45% at half CT which would result in 60-100FC. Hope this helps to clarify. Please feel free to contact me for any further [email protected]fiilex.com

question

Does it reach it's 1,500-2,000W tungsten equivalence only when it's at it's half way point between 2800K - 6500K like common 1x1 panels?
Asked by: James
All of the Fiilex lighting products are based around our patented Dense Matrix LED light source. More about the technology is here; http://www.fiilex.com/about/technologies.phpThe CCT range for the unit is from 2800k to 6500k. However we do note that the 2800k-3000k and 5600k-6500k are the extended color range. This means that in these color temp ranges the light output is reduced. Between 3000k-5600k the light output is similar, however is brighter at the 5600k setting.
