The Cyber-shot DSC-HX90V Digital Camera from Sony has an 18.2MP BSI Exmor R CMOS Sensor and a powerful 30x optical zoom lens. In combination with the BIONZ X image processor, the sensor provides sharp imaging and fast autofocus speeds. A 638k-dot OLED electronic viewfinder provides an easy way to shoot at eye level, while a 180° tilting 3.0" 921k-dot LCD screen lets you shoot at different unique angles.

The HX90V also supports Full HD 1080p video capture at 60p, 60i, and 24p. In both still and video modes, the HX90V has Optical SteadyShot Hybrid image stabilization to help reduce shake and blur by countering camera movements in 5 axes, resulting in more stable stills and videos even at long focal lengths.

    Sony DSC-HX90V reviews

    Cyber-shot DSC-HX90V Digital Camera is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 62.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great photos when the light is there Great camera for the price, but with limitations. The long zoom needs support when extended, and the lens & captor combination need light to return nice photos. Powerful set (sets?) of image processing/adjustment features, even though one needs to have the Help guide printed to be able to understand and use the lesser-used settings. The lens is excellent, and the self-retracting cover eliminates the hassle of dealing with a lens cover. This is the perfect camera to carry around and, with the GPS, remember where a photo was taken. My only wish is that it could save RAW files, but the JPG-only files can be excellent. I also with that the tripod socket was made of metal rather than some plastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Point-and-Shoot!!! I got this camera because I was going to a concert and wanted to get great close-ups of stills and videos and this camera went way beyond expectations! Amazing detail. Also has really fun features for changing up colors. Excellent quality, and I did quite a bit of research before deciding that this was clearly the best. Sometimes the focus would take a second if you were zoomed all the way to the limit, but if you brought it in a bit it would focus immediately so you could then zoom back in accurately. I wish I had had more time to learn all of the awesome features in time for the event I went to, but even as a novice I got some outstanding shots!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressed So Far My wife and I have been through several point and shoots and travel zooms in the last two years. We've lost a lot of money in the process trying to find a good balance of a camera that is pocket friendly, capable of shooting great pics and video and that has a great zoom. Finally this camera came out and we bought it and immediately put it through some tests including battery run down testing while shooting videos, etc. This camera has passed all of our tests and we're extremely happy with it. This will be the perfect companion on our trips and we're very happy that Sony finally knocked one out of the park on this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Compact Camera ever I was looking for a camera, which i won't look like a photography nerd to other during a trip. DSLR's were really not my interest, as they are bulky and need to change lenses and need more caring. So i went for Sony HX90V, which is pocket size, but with 30x Optical zoom, which is amazing. I love wildlife photography and this is the smallest camera in The World with 30x optical zoom. Please check the attached photo if you are not sure what i am talking about.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient and hi tech I'm afraid I've gone through a number of the latest crop of point and shoot cameras always finding something I don't like. One was too big, most lack a view finder, some lack GPS. NOne were satisfying. Until this little Sony gem had its debut recently. It is small, has a great optical and zoom lense combination, is sensitive enough for most any lighting situation, and has most of the bells and whistles one could want. I could argue that the two hundred pages of instructions make it more complex than necessary but it is easy to ignore functions you don't need and some, like HDR actually come in handy. While mostly plastic, the construction seems solid. About the only complaint I can think of is lack of RAW and I can live for that in exchange for the extreme flexibility this little gem provides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best point and shoot I own I bought this camera after seeing the pictures my brother in law gets from his older model. I use a Nikon D800 and D750 but often don't want to carry the big cameras. This one fits in my pocket easily, so I can always have it with me. It is way superior to my iPhone camera. I really like the long zoom. The electronic viewfinder is really useful on bright days. The only thing I would like to have is the ability to shoot in raw. Also a better owner's manual.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Waste Your Money I purchased the DSC-HX90V to supplement my Sony RX100 III for use on a once in a lifetime month long trip to Florence, Italy. Today, half way through the trip, the camera began to operate erratically. The electronic viewfinder stopped working and the image on the LCD flipped 180 degrees (all previews appeared to be upside down). For all practical purposes, the camera was bricked. Up until that time it had worked perfectly. Unless you're planning to take multiple cameras along, I would be hard to suggest this as a travel camera, especially at this price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than advertised I have a full frame DSLR which I love. However there are many times where it is too big and heavy. I travel a lot for work and like to always have a camera with me just in case...I don't always have room for a back pack full of lenses and camera gear. A phone camera just doesn't offer enough control or quality. This is exactly what I needed. So far I am quite pleased. The image quality combined with a great lens is just what I needed. I highly recommend.
