Smart Battery for Solo Quadcopter is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 106.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Big, heavy, expensive. Smart? The size of this battery for the power provided is surprisingly large. I am not sure if this is due to its smart configuration. Another minus is that it can only be charged using the adapter provided by 3DR. It would be better if a portable battery charger with regular USB/micro-USB port could be, particularly when out in the field. While the recharge is fairly fast, I would appreciate more a longer recharge and longer flying time. It is also expensive. One charge is 15-20 minutes or less before you get the warning of low battery. It is nice that when it reaches a low battery level, it forces the drone back home!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Functions as Expected The battery functions as advertised. Be prepared for about 12 to 15 minutes of flying time on a fully charged battery. The battery will get very warm during use and must be allowed to cool before charging. Charging the battery from 10% remaining power to 100% power takes about 1 hour (after the battery cools). It is the only game in town for now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You'll Need This Solo batteries don't last that long. I've found the 20 min they advertise is sometimes a stretch. So I bought this as a second battery... and I use it about 70% of the time I fly the Solo. Your control panel battery on the Solo lasts much longer, so having a spare battery for the drone makes a lot of sense.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as advertised I find the Solo batteries take under 2 hours to charge. I have only flown Solo without the gimbal or gopro. When fully charged I get about 20 minutes flight time, depending upon the maneuvers I attempt. As there is no off-the-shelf alternative yet, I would purchase extra batteries when you buy a Solo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More batteries for great quadcopter Having more batteries for my 3DR Solo means more time to fly on location. I love having 20 more minutes to fly for fun or in case I need one more flight to get the shot. I wish they we a little less expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Batter Good power and duration for it's size and weight. I get about 20min. flight time out of it. Sometimes less when the wind is up. This thing recharges pretty quick and holds charge well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the Look and LED lights.. So, I love the piano black slick style and the Logo branding of course. It's smart because without on the drone you can tap the power button to briefly check the remaining power and the led lights will bling on to the level left. On the Drone the Led lights remain on and count down showing remaining power left. Only con is the battery life... So far i have only bought a 2nd extra battery. The most flight time I've gotten on 1 battery before the FAILSAFE automatic fly home feature kicks in is about 17 mins (actually flying, not just hovering).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You will probably need more than one. I bought a spare battery so that when I am at a nice location I am not limited to the time of a single battery. I recommend having at least one spare.
