Basic Matchbox LED Light Kit is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Small Light by Far!! I use this as an on camera light. It is solid, with a bit of heft, but well worth the extra bit of weight in comparison to the plastic housing on most lights this size. The light quality is magnificently accurate, wide and pleasingly soft. However, at max setting it is exceptionally bright. This is, hands down the best light I've owned to date.May purchase another soon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It's okay. Nothing special. Died on my first day. Turned out to be the AC adapter but took nearly 2 weeks for this US company to replace a $ adapter. The 'bi-color' is achieved by using hard filters - that you have to keep up with - that go in front of the 'phosphors'. Which are just glorified LEDs. So, you're just gelling a light in order to use it. Unlike other $ competitors, they don't include a case. So, you have to find a way to keep the light, the two filters and the three-piece power cable system together for a 6 light. Save your money and put it towards a Kino, Litepanel or something useful. I'll keep it in my tool bag for a while but if it doesn't get used, it's going on @.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great small light I have been using Cineo lights for over 2 years and I love them. The first thing you have to understand is that they are unlike most LED lights on the market. There really should be a separate category. Especially now that everyone is jumping on the remote phosphor bandwagon. The first thing you need to know about remote phosphor is that the panels in front are not filters (as one other reviewer stated) they are actually wherected the light comes from. Phosphor is on every LED light. It's what gives you white light the actual led is a neon blue and is painful to look at. Cineo separated the LED from the phosphor. This has lots of advantages. More lumen per watt, less heat on the LED which means a longer life, but more importantly a softer light that's more color accurate... and if they come out with a better phosphor panel, you're not buying a new lighting fixture... just the panel. Now about the Matchbox. This is their next evolution of the Matchstix. It is a small light that works great in small spaces. It has a Dimmer built in. It is great as a camera top light or as a good piece of kit to add a little light to a scene. As with any small light, it probably won't be your main source of light.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid build, accurate color This is my first review. I was looking for a good on-camera light at NAB this year (2015) and came across the Cineo booth. I was tired of the plastic variable color units (you know the ones) that have broken or just plain quit on me. I had one that would run down the battery unless it was removed. I got this Matchbox a couple of weeks ago. Be aware that you need a battery holder accessory unless you intend to power it with the AC to 12V provided in this kit. I rigged my own battery. The accessory was not yet available here. I love the color accuracy. It's bright as you'd expect for this size. It's on the heavy side since it's made from extruded and machined aluminum; solid. The out-of-box experience is great; reminds me of Apple product packaging. There is no power switch; turn the brightness knob all the way down or unplug the battery. The brightness knob can be pressed in so it's flush with the side. The spread of the beam is wide and even. No diffuser needed. It's already diffused.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Under appreciated, under reviewed, beautiful soft light I was looking for a portable light for shooting interviews for doc films. Cineo never came up in my research was fortunate that a videographer suggested its bigger brother Maverick. Before making the leap, I decided to get the Matchbox, which I could use for a hair light or additional fill. I am just blown away by the softness, spread and brightness of the light! The light is accurate throughout the dimming range. Similar priced and similar sized LED lights do not even come close. Compare them side by side and you will be surprised. I just ordered the Maverick as well even though I am working on a very limited budget, I think filming with this quality of light will give even a 5D results comparable to high-end cameras. If you are in the market for a portable light, PLEASE give this a try. In our industry where marketing and covert (pro reviews) marketing drives so many products, I feel lucky that I found CINEO. I am still puzzled why this company and their lights don't get more attention.
