Yes it will. You should turn off one, connect them, and then start it while pressing t and it will enter Target mode (it will show the Thunderbolt icon). It will mount as an external drive in the other computer.Once you are done, you eject the drive and turn off the machine by pressing the power button. Then, disconnect both machines.:)

Heck no. There are 2 Thunderbolt ports to allow daisy chaining of Thunderbolt devices, not data doubling. It will not increase the speed. It matters which version of Thunderbolt you are on as well...
