I am using the LS-1 with the KIRK replacement foot on my Canon EF 100-400mm L II lens. They work very well together and support my lens at 2 points instead of 1 on a tripod. I find the combination is noticeably more stable than without it. I don't know if you can use this combo on other lenses . You would have to experiment. Kirk makes individual lens supports for specific lenses. For example,they make an LS-2 lens bracket for the new Nikon 200-500mm lens.
