    Video Devices PIX-LR reviews

PIX-LR XLR Audio Interface for PIX-E Monitors is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value This is a no-brainer for one man crews on a budget. The value is incredible if you consider the cost of Sound Devices preamps, and the limited alternatives to get that piped into your video recorder, and especially being able to do all that and monitor well with just one person. I've often been the on set audio guy w/field recorder and headphones on, and this has almost all the advantages of a dedicated audio guy, but you can do it along with the shooting. The meters are big and bright, there are quality pots, phantom power, and transport controls. The Pix E5 and LR combo is the best setup that I know of!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential Addition to the PixE Recorders I added the LR to my PixE5 after using my old Juiced Link interface for a couple of years. What an upgrade! First of all, the integration with the recorder is seamless. Audio quality is wonderful as expect from this company. The large dedicated buttons make operating the recorder much easier and it's mich easier to see that you are recording-I don't need to take my eye away from the eyepiece, just a quick glance with my off camera eye is enough. I love this thing, makes my job so much easier. Just wish the PixE came with it in the first place. My only complaint: still no ability to accept external timecode. They really should have included that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have add-on Very easy and intuitive. It pays for itself very quickly when you take into account the time saved in editing by not having to sync clips. It acts exactly as you would expect a simple sound devices interface would. It's solid and feels like it will stand the test of time. Wish I had gotten it sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Pixe7 is complete I love Sound Devices/Video Devices gear. I'm basically and Audio Mixer and use a Sound Devices 788T-SSD purchased from B&H. Now, I can get a similar sound with the Pixe7.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from superior sound, great value Through studio monitors I have compared this to the Tascam 60D, Zoom H5 & H6, and the Sound devices mix pre 3 and 702 in my journey to get really good sound in my video. Sound floor is fantastic and has exceptionally low noise. It is a far better sound floor and quality then the Tascam or Zoom. The sound was always so thin and edgy with them. The sound quality of the PIX-LR is significantly richer and more life like. However, the sound quality is not as fat as the preamps in the Mixpre-3 or my favourite, the Sound Devices 702. It is well thought out and the large LED gauges make it easy to get the levels right. It is a great addition to the PIX-E5H. I have switched from Atomos and Zoom and am getting superior and more consistent results with sound/video devices gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent piece of gear. a must have! Excellent product. An absolute must have. Love this addition to the pix-e5 recorder. There are tons of reviews out there on this product, all positive. I def agree with them. Many options available through the menu for xlr 1-2, hdmi audio from camera, phantom power on/off, headphone volume, etc etc. I've had this product for a year now and still would very much recomend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thinking of turning myself in... Owning the PIX-LR seems like stealing. The same professional quality mic pre's and analog limiters found in Sound Devices high-end audio gear, at a fraction of the price. The VU meters and transport buttons light up like a Christmas tree. How cool is that?! Very durable construction. No need to power a standalone audio recorder, or sync audio in post. A great investment.
