SeaLife 2500 Overview

Illuminate the underwater world at depths up to 200' with the Sea Dragon 2500 Photo and Video LED Dive Light with Tray and Grip from SeaLife. It features three outputs from 625-2500 lumens for a run time of 60-240 min with the supplied lithium-ion battery. The light offers a very wide 120° beam angle, which makes it suitable for use as a main photo/video and primary dive light. Brighten up wide-angle stills and videos and restore rich, natural colors with this nearly daylight-balanced 5000K flood beam.

Built for durability, the light features a fiber-reinforced polycarbonate body and an anodized aluminum light head, both of which are resistant to corrosion. A push-button switching system makes it easy to turn the power on or off and cycle through output modes. The included Flex-Connect Grip gives you a mounting point for the light and can be connected to the supplied Flex-Connect Tray. There is also an adapter for GoPro action cameras bundled with this kit. These accessories are part of a modular system designed for improved handling, customizable setups, and easy travel.

  • Hidden SOS emergency signal mode with 1.0-sec blink interval and Morse code
  • Thermal sensor will automatically dim light if internal temperatures reaches 149°F/65°C, in order to prevent overheating
  • For prolonged use, it's recommended that you keep light underwater, as it's not designed to handle extended operation above surface

Couldnt get battery to recharge

The light worked perfectly but after the second use, the battery wouldnt recharge. The indicator light on the recharger just flickered barely. I left it charging overnight and still the battery did not get recharged. There was some power left in the battery and I was able to get some use out of it after that but not much. I tried several times to get it to recharge but was unsuccessful. B&H is going to replace the entire unit but that doesnt help me now. I did 5 days of diving in Cozumel and only got to use the light sparingly after the second day. There is a learning curve with using a light underwater. Distance is critical. From more than 2 or 3 feet away, the light doesnt make much difference. When you get real close, your shots tend to get overexposed. Using exposure compensation helps but you dont always have to luxury of time to make adjustments when youre trying to shoot a moving subject underwater. Still, Id rather shoot with the light than without. Im giving this 3 stars because I think the light functions well for the price. Im just very disappointed that I could get more use out of it. I was just starting to get the hang of using it. I probably wont have another chance to use this for many months.

Does this work with the Sealife Underwater ...

Does this work with the Sealife Underwater Housing for smartphones? How does it connect so the flash is triggered?

SeaLife Sea Dragon 2500 Photo and Video LED Dive Light with Tray and Grip is not a flash. This is a constant LED light and you can screw the bracket on one of the three 1/4-20 threads the SeaLife SportDiver Underwater Housing for Smartphones has.

This is just one light, in the future, can you adapt another light on the other side? I am not sure if I need one or 2 lights.

Does this work with the Olympus underwater housing for Olympus TG6?

The SeaLife Sea Dragon 2500 Photo and Video LED Dive Light with Tray and Grip will work with the OM SYSTEM PT-059 Underwater Housing. The housing has a female 1/4" thread, and the tray on the light has a 1/4" male thread.

Can I get a mask attachment for the light?

I don't believe there's a mask attachment and if there is, I wouldn't use one. You won't be able to control the on/off switch easily and it's a relatively heavy light head so I wouldn't attach it to my mask as it will likely break your seal if not pull your mask off entirely. I own this light and it's amazing, I have multiple attachments so I use it in many different ways. Battery life was impressive and after a night dive someone asked on the boat who brought the sun with them?! That's how bright it is! Next time I won't use the max capacity on the night dive, oops
