Polsen XLR-USB-48 Overview

The Polsen XLR-USB-48 is a compact and easy-to-use XLR to USB interface that allows users to connect an XLR microphone directly to a computer via the USB port. It’s an ideal tool for singer/songwriters, podcasters, or musicians who need a simple yet high-quality solution for recording with an XLR microphone directly to a laptop or desktop computer.

Connecting the adapter to an XLR microphone and to your computer’s USB port is all that’s needed to start recording. Can you use this to connect a Rode Procaster (XLR) to a MabBook (USB)? Does it work properly?

This is an affordable audio interface, that would allow the Rode Procaster microphone to be connected to a PC or MAC computer via USB. This unit offers plug-and-plyt operation and a headphone jack for monitoring from the microphone, and would work well with any microphone. .

Will this work if I have an xlr extension cable running from the mic to the device itself? Or does it need to be plugged direct

Yes, the Polsen XLR-USB-48 XLR to USB Audio Interface does not need to be plugged into the microphone. You can use an XLR just like any other audio interface.

Why is the headphone output of the mic so low but the system audio normal?

The headphones you are using with the XLR-USB-48 may require more power which can be achieved by using a headphone amplifier such as the Polsen HPA-4X2 (B&H # POHPA4X2) to provide more volume. You can find additional options for headphone amps listed under the "Accessories" tab.

There is a USB cable included with the XLR-USB-48 which is USB Type-A to mini-USB. If you need a replacement, you can use the Pearstone USB 2.0 Type A Male to Type B Mini Male Cable (Black) - 3' (B&H # PECUAMUMBM3).
