The JK Audio RemoteMix x4 combines a 4-channel broadcast field mixer with a 4-channel headphone amplifier in a compact chassis that can be operated via hot-swappable 9V batteries or the included power supply, making it well suited for use in news, sports, live remotes, or as a front-end mixer for POTS, ISDN, IP, or smartphone codecs.
The mixer includes four active balanced microphone inputs with individually selectable 48V phantom power, per-channel peak indicators, and mic/line switches for channels 3-4. Each of the four 1/4" headphone outputs offers a dedicated source selector and level control.
The master XLR output is direct-drive DC-coupled for high immunity to cable noise. An integrated soft limiter inhibits distortion for the full-duplex headset interface while the XLR and 3.5mm outputs are fed pre-limiter. The switchable 120 Hz low-cut filter reduces problematic bass frequencies caused by issues such as rumble and mic handling.

JK Audio X4 Reviews
I'm an idiot for not doing this sooner

Forty years of doing all the stick and ball sports plus auto racing for radio and never thought about a dedicated box as a field mixer. I may be dumber than that sounds. The JK Remote X4 is like having a studio on-site without the bulk. Can now run a three-station network on-site with full control. Easy to carry, easy to set up, easy to connect in multiple ways. And with battery power, we can go anywhere now. I've tried to find a negative, but I can't. For my needs, this is perfection.

Why only one balanced audio output channel? That ...
Why only one balanced audio output channel? That sharply reduces utility-four inputs with no ability to mix down to two channel recorders.
The JK Audio RemoteMix x4 Broadcast Field Mixer eliminates left/right panning in favor of summed mono signal mixing along with the inclusion of a headphone distribution amplifier onboard. The RemoteMix x4 is designed with specific POTS, ISDN, IP, or smartphone codec applications in mind.
