The Lithophone from the Vienna Symphonic Library is a sample-based virtual instrument made from stone and modeled after the marimba. Carl Orff first introduced the instrument to the orchestral arrangements. The lithophone uses 15 small round slabs of limestone, chromatically arranged on rubber pegs.
