Synology BC214SE2200 Overview

The DiskStation BeyondCloud Mirror 4TB (2 x 2TB) 2-Bay NAS from Synology has a total capacity of 4TB, includes 2 x 2TB pre-installed Seagate NAS drives, and is designed to help users quickly and efficiently set up a private cloud. After this NAS is plugged in and turned on, users will only need to log in so that they may start adding data to their new NAS, which may be accessed from within or outside of their network.

The BeyondCloud Mirror has two drive bays, each of which supports 3.5" and 2.5" SATA III 6 Gb/s and SATA II 3 Gb/s hard drives and SSDs. It is powered by an 800 MHz MARVELL Armada 370 88F6707 single-core processor and 256GB of DDR3 RAM. Network connectivity is achieved using the single Gigabit LAN port. It also has dual USB 2.0 ports for connecting external peripherals, supports up to 512 user accounts, and is iSCSI-ready and DLNA-certified.

While this NAS does have 4TB of overall space, please bear in mind that it comes pre-configured as a RAID 1, or a mirrored device. This means that any data that is transferred to this NAS is written to each of the 2TB drives simultaneously. While the advantage of this is that there will be a backup in the case that one drive fails, it will also only leave users with 2TB of usable space. In order to use the full 4TB capacity of this NAS, it will be necessary to select another of the supported modes, such as RAID 0, Basic, Synology Hybrid RAID, or JBOD.

The DiskStation BeyondCloud Mirror 4TB (2 x 2TB) 2-Bay NAS operates on 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz using an included 60W power adapter and a power cord. Also included is an RJ-45 LAN cable.

User-Friendly Installation
The BeyondCloud Mirror comes ready to use with 4TB (2 x 2TB) NAS hard drives pre-installed. After plugging in your unit and turning it on, users only need to log in so that they may start adding data to their NAS. Users may also access their NAS from outside of their network

The BeyondCloud Mirror provides you with a central platform to organize, backup, and share photos, music, and video collections. Featuring a streamlined interface, Synology's pre-installed packages - Photo Station, Audio Station, Note Station, and Video Station - let users build a seamless entertainment hub. Since everything is saved on your BeyondCloud Mirror, users can enjoy media and share files, without having to worry about extra monthly fees for storage capacity
Connect Data
Synology aims to provide users with a convenient way to enjoy all services on their BeyondCloud Mirror. With Synology QuickConnect, users don't have to deal with difficult remote access setup. QuickConnect frees users from complicated router configuration and port-forwarding, so entertainment and work files can be accessed on any computer, laptop, or mobile device almost instantly and without extra charge
File Center
File Station is a fast and secure feature for sharing and managing files stored on the BeyondCloud Mirror. Just drag-n-drop and upload data from a Mac or PC. Advanced filters help make it easier to search for documents, photos, or videos. With built-in FTP or email clients, the BeyondCloud Mirror also lets you organize and share files through an advanced web application. You can even share files and folders with others by simply sending a link. Files can be reached on mobile devices via the companion mobile app DS file. HTTPS, SSL/TSL encryption, and link expiry dates also help ensure the security of file sharing over the Internet
Stream Content to Your TV
The BeyondCloud Mirror is compatible with other devices, letting you manage and enjoy digital content with the devices you already have: computers, mobile devices, TVs, DLNA devices, and stereos. Synology offers support for TV streaming, including Samsung TV, Roku players, Apple TV, and Google Chromecast, meaning you can stream digital content stored on the BeyondCloud Mirror to your widescreen TV
Cloud Service
The BeyondCloud Mirror brings users a comprehensive cloud service. Cloud Station lets users sync files among DiskStations and multiple devices, including Windows PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android, as well as Windows mobile devices, whereas 2-way sync allows file synchronization among different DiskStations. You can even sync your DiskStation with Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, hubiC, and Baidu Cloud in order to establish your hybrid cloud, enjoy more storage flexibility, and help prevent data loss
Apps
Synology develops mobile apps - DS note, DS audio, DS video, DS photo+, DS cloud, DS file, DS download and DS cam - allowing users to access and manage the contents of their BeyondCloud Mirror with smartphones and tablets. QuickConnect helps bring an easier network experience, as it eliminates complicated router configurations or port forwarding. With Synology mobile apps, multimedia collections and work files are always on the go
