Super compact and easily programmable, the Michron Time Lapse Device from Alpine Labs simplifies the process of shooting time lapses. The 1 ounce device slides easily into a camera's hot shoe and connects via the included Canon E3 cable. Using an Android or iOS device running the mobile app or a PC users can quickly connect to the Michron and program the duration and interval setting, which can be set as fast as 0.25 seconds. Also, the phone can be used as a simple external trigger for steady tripod shots.
A variety of specialized modes are available for both taking more control or further simplifying shooting. An Auto Timelapse setting lets users let the device and camera take control of the shooting settings while Bulb and Interval Ramping allows for more elaborate shots with either lengthening or shortening of the shutter speed or interval timing. Also, an HDR Bracketing mode will take three shots at different exposure settings for creating HDR time lapses. And, a Photo Booth mode will extend the camera's self-timer duration for as long as needed and allow for setting how many shots to take at what interval. Additionally, it runs on a 2032 battery which will provide over 2000 hours of runtime.
